I want a Cig!

16 years ago 0 24 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
You maybe experiencing new triggers, something that you've experienced for the first time since quitting. You and I quit almost the same date and I get those triggers once in a while as well. The trick that I use is, I acknowledge that I want one cig, but do I also want the rest? One is too many, 1,000 cigs is not enough. I also tell myself that the first cig will not be enjoyable. It's going to be nasty, make me cough and most importantly, it might blow my quit. It's just not worth it. Charel! Today's th 13th, and you've hit 50 days!! You're on the cruise!! Don't think about smoking, think about lying on the beach at the end of the cruise. You can do it! I'll be on the ship in 4 more days, so let's get to the beach. I love the beach. Hang tough. lol..oh unhooked..you are so bad charel, you will stop having craves/urges/thoughts once you have faced all the triggers there are to face. It's kind of fun, actually, once you are sure you won't smoke anymore. To find other things to do when in the past you would have smoked. Then laugh at the addiction. Please, do not play around with those "one puffs" One puff leads to one cig leads to one pack leads to a thousand more. You are doing great. Don't mess it up. charel, there are so many other things you can do besides smoke at night. Do you have a balcony? Stairs? A trampoline? Lol! No, really, it sounds as if you need some routine thing to look forward to in the evening. How about a cup of tea, or some time with a good book? Just anything you like to do that you can get into the habit of doing every evening will replace that crave. It isn't you that wants a smoke, anyway. It's the junkie that lives in your head trying to find a weakness. You've been giving her ash to kiss for 49 days, just keep it up. You're doing great! Oh and charel? NOT ONE PUFF EVER!!! EVER!!! It's very possible that that one puff is what gave the junkie hope & started up this crave. Don't do it, it's not worth risking your quit.
