(((Mercy,))) I am so sorry to hear your news. Yes you have to be shaken but, there is no reason for you to feel guilty. That won't help you to be strong for your cousin which is what she needs most now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your cousin. Mercy, First off, keep in mind not all lung cancers are directly related to smoking. If you feel guilty, perhaps you could something for her? She'll need lots of support in the weeks to come. Mercy, you have touch a spot for me. As you may know or not I lost two sisters to lung cancers and it has taken me years to quit after they died. One quit for 13 years and one never so I just didn't know what to do, so I continued to smoke. For a very long time I lived in the fear of getting lung cancer and I mean big time fear. Then when the time came that my older sister had found out she had it and I was the same age the fear left. Why? I don't know. Oh it is still in the back of my mind but it does not consume me day and night. Why your cousin got lung cancer who knows, but don't feel guilty. You know it won't help you or your cousin. Mercy you have so much faith, use that to get you though. Lean on your God and let him walk you with you. You have my prayers. Mercy, When I was sitting in the emergency room with my youngest and his broken collarbone, I wanted his pain. He's such a great kid that he didn't deserve to be suffering � my rationale - but life just isn't like that. Dwell for a while, it's only natural but you have no power over fate, que sera, sera. Take the opportunity to be there for your cousin, cook a meal for her family, give her a ride to a treatment, etc etc. This is a time where family is so very important, and so very precious.
