Lately when I drive my heart starts beating really fast I feel like I can't catch my breath,my arms feel like they are going numb I feel like oh my gosh I'm fixing to wreck and die and that makes it worse I feel like things are happening in slow motion and my eyes get kinda blurry. It only happens when I drive on Freeway or in a lot of Traffic or crossing River bridge where there is alot of water.I don't know if this is panic attacks?I'm 34 years old and never had one until about 6 mths ago. Now they come and go I tell myself to get over it and really just start going off on myself and some times I can pull myself out of it. But you can look at me anf know somethings wrong I'm all pale and sweating and vey grumpy.

Haven't tried listing my symptoms before: Starts with a vague feeling in my eyes and a numb feeling going around my head. Then the electrical tingles start - usually in my neck, back and arms, but this time it's been in my legs too. Chest pain - from back to front and all over achiness. Have figured out that this is because the muscles tense with the tingling and then feel sore. Does anyone else have problems with certain song words or phrases or even names getting stuck in their thought process? This has also been a precursor to a more extensive anxiety attack. It's always like a record skipping with the same words over and over and I try to "change the channel." I also find myself thinking way too much about my symptoms. I try extremely hard to sidetrack myself and it's exhausting sometimes. I really hate this, because I love to do so many things and feel like a wimp when this takes over. Like a weakness and I know I'm not. It's great to talk to other strong people who have to cope with the same problems.

On edge -Feeling like I need to call 911 and have them save me -checking pulse all the time -bouncing my left leg all day (since I started the zoloft) -mind racing -feeling like I am dying all the time

I have a question. Does anyone have continual nausea as a symptom of anxiety? I don't mean during or after a panic attack, but just as a symptom of anxiety? theem9

Headaches, pressure all in my body as if wanting to explode, feeling of unreality, not willing to talke or do anything, during an attack or after. easily crying, of course all those aother horrible symptoms, raising heartbeating, feeling dizzy, feeling as if loosing control or going crazy, or never coming back to normal, heat coming out of my body, being on the edge, feeling as if i am walking on a bridge afraid to fell down any minute.

Minnie, I also get that loo thing also. Had it so bad it was hard to go anywhere. I started to take pepcid ac and it works for me. Irritable bowel is a sympton of anxiety and panick attacks. I had lost a lot of weight because of it. There is some foods that can trigger it also. I can get the chills to and very hard to get warmed up. I try and drink some warm herbal tea (without caffine) and that will help. I just let it shake intill its done doing its thing. If I try and fight it, it will make it worse and last longer. I've read that going to cold to hot or vis-versa can be stessful to your system and can trigger a panick attack in us, because our emotions are at a heighted level and easily trigged to stresses. I also had been checked inside and out by a doctor to make sure it was irritable bowel. that was about 10 years ago and I still get the stomach thing, so I figured that the doctor was right, because I think if it was anything serious it of would caught up to me by now. Sometimes hard to trust the doctors, with this disorder. After having this disorder for 25 years, you get to know the routine of the symptons of panick and they do not throw me as much, but it is still lurking in the back ground, but I'm learning to be able to keep it at bay and what can trigger it. I wish all the healing and understanding your way.

oh, just two more things i thought of, which i'd be interested to see if anyone else suffers from, but i feel like going to the loo a lot during my panics (sorry to be blunt), and i do have to go a lot. and i also feel very cold. can't warm up. any ideas about this? i've had tests for diabetes and i'm fine, so that's not it.

this the first time i've made a list of my symptoms, so this will be interesting for me too: - starts of with vague 'off' feeling - can't smile - tingling in the back and top of my head - tingling down my limbs - when it's full blown, hot flashes - heart racing - shortness of breath - crying - feeling of hopelessness - feeling like i'm going to go crazy, mad - feeling of total unreality - altered vision - things look blurry - loneliness - worried that i can't cope - worried that no medication can help - tiredness - racing thoughts - concept of time is distrupted (can't see to even the next day) - twitching eye i'm sure there is more, but i can't think of any right now. afterwards i just feel absolutely grateful it's over and filled with hope that it won't happen again. yeah, riiiight :|

Sometimes I can't leave my room or the house *I will avoid social situations *I sometimes wish to be on a small space where nobody will know where I am at and where I don't be noticed. *I will temporarily lose any and all optimism for the future *I will have deep regrets over past decisions *I will long for death, then cry when I realize how it would affect my family *I will constantly bounce my knees up and down when sitting *I will suddenly feel overwhemled *Things instantly seem like a much bigger situation than what they actually are *If prolonged stress occurs I get hemmoroids *Persistant high anxiety thoughts will get stuck in my head and I will over obsess about something *I will usually tire myself out w/ these problems until I lose all evergy and fall asleep feeling hopeless *I will sometimes binge on sweets or other bad habits.
