Georgie 1000 days is more than impressive, but what might be even more striking is the 20,000 cigarettes that you did not smoke...Lets see if we figure an average of 5 minutes per cig, that works out to about 100,000 minutes which makes 1667 hours divided by 24 hours per day makes it about 70 days that you would have invested in smoking cigarettes...That is a little more than two full months...I'll bet you had much better things to do with that time than ingesting chemicals...Congratulations and thanks for coming by to give us all a measure of hope that this can be done... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 313 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,390 Amount Saved: $3,286.50 Life Gained: Days: 57 Hrs: 3 Mins: 48 Seconds: 33

This is quite an impressive stat if I do have to say so myself. You see, I smoked for at least 40 years. I never thought it would even become an issue to stop smoking. You know when I was young and smoking no one ever told us how bad the cigs were for us, even the Doctor's and nurses smoked. And oh yeah, some of them still do! I actually had an earlier quit. I did quit on January 9, 2004, stayed smoke free for 10 months and then decided one night just to have one...well that one lead to 3 more months of smoking. On Feb 6, 2005 I said "no this is not what I want to do anymore". Put them down and put the patch on. It has been history since that day. Of course I had some really bad days when I wanted to just rip the patch off and go smoke, but I didn't! I owe most of that to my friends "THE UNSMOKEABLES" that I met here at the SSC. I was surfing the web looking for a support group, came across the SSC and joined. I am so glad I did. So for all you "NEWBIES" reading this, don't get discouraged, you can do it! I did and am so thankful for all the help I got here from my friends and the support staff. I am not sure what I am going to do for my reward for my 1000 days, I am just thankful that I still have a strong quit going on. Good Luck to everyone who is in this daily battle to keep fighting the addict in us all!!!!!
