Day 2 and doing OK

16 years ago 0 153 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I'll be here! I've been having a hard time today too, not so much with the cravings but more with the anger management. But I've decided I'll just smile instead of getting mad at someone... hopefully that will keep me from saying some nasty things through the day :) Hang on guys, it's difficult but a good ride to take :D Just think it is temporary and keep on smiling because it will only get better from now on. Sounds like you've got a handle on yourself. Good for you! It's always good to let people know where you stand. Yeah, my wife still isn't smoking as well, but now every time we talk to each other, she's biting my head off. She says it's got nothing to do with her quit. I think we all know better. That's OK. I'll take her out to dinner tonight. I figure if we can get through the weekend, it should all be downhill? I hope so. Good luck, and keep posting over the weekend. ] sprquits, keep it going, and keep posting. I have a feeling I'll need some uplifting this weekend. I'm still here. I had a break-through this morning. Well...kinda....I got really angry at someone at work (brought on my nicotine withdrawl?...probably not, but I know it had something to do with my reaction) The thing is I did something completely out of character for me. I stood up for myself! I usually am the quiet, agreeable person who takes what is given to her, even when it's crap. Well, today there was someone who was being an (insert bad word here) not very nice person and instead of letting that individual intimidate me, I voiced my opinion. In a very assertive way! Anyway, I should leave out the details, but I am still in shock that I said some things. But, don't worry, it wasn't anything inappropriate. In fact, a lot of people have complimented me on the way I handled the situation. :) As for the cigarettes, I am still holding out and feeling better every day. You doing alright today Goofy? How about your wife? Sprquits, keep us posted on your quit too! I am looking forward to the weekend, but at the same time nervous. It's a lot of spare time to not think about smoking. Good luck to us all! OK, One more try, you still being strong? Haven't seen anything from you today. I hope you're doing well. 8 more hours will be 5 full days for me. I don't know if I'm looking forward to the weekend or not. Well done you guys on quitting. Always remember to plan for your "rewards" in those early days. Even yet if I've had a particularly bad day I say to myself "but hey, no matter what, you are still a non-smoker" and I smile as I go and get myself some little treat. Hang in there. Nothing in life is as hard to do, but nothing is more rewarding or empowering. Be very very proud. Cigarettes Not Smoked

16 years ago 0 1107 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hey, give me a break. I'm old. I'm trying not to smoke after 35 years. I'm also not drinking beer now, my other love. I know that beer is a big trigger for me to smoke. I may forget or miss things now and then. Goofy, I wrote in your 'losing it' post. You are 'losin it'! LOL! Yes, I'm hanging in there. Finding it very difficult to work, or even to think about anything else besides smoking. Oh, except the halloween candy. Namely chocolate, my other addiction! I wish I could sleep all day and all night for the next week or so. But, yes, tomorrow I will have completed my first three days. We can do this!
