Damion, Listen to what Danno said. We watched him go through cutting down, then quitting. You will crave starting about 20 minutes after you smoke until your next hit of nicotine. Until you totally quit, that is. Sounds like you have been preparing, so you just have to get excited about being free from this addiction, and go for it, no looking back! This is a very very good thing you're about to do. As one member here says, "You get to quit, not you've got to quit." it really is a gift to yourself. Get through that first week and you will have it made. Let us know how we can help. Hi Damion! The cravings feel like they are getting stronger because your only smoking two a day. Your body is still addicted to that nicotine, and since it only gets two shots of it a day, it tends to make them even more special and "needed." I did the cut down method as well. My craves only got better when I quit all the way. Then the nicotine had a chance to get out of my system entirely. You can do this. Put them down and by the third day you will have turned a major corner. It only gets easier from there. Holler when you need the help! Damion911, I see from your quit meter that you haven't quit yet. Remember your body is addicted to that nicotine and will scream when it doesn't get it. In preparation for your quit date, be sure to work through the online quit program and rid your house of cigarettes and other paraphernalia. No back peddling! Distractions will be your friends in the days to come. Keeping busy doesn't allow your mind to wander or keep focus on your craves. Physical activity like taking a quick brisk walk may also help to release any tension and anxiety you may be feeling due to your craves. Keep close and keep us posted. I wait out the cravings for 5 minutes, 20 minutes, hours, I use the Delay method, it doesnt work!!! I take 1000mg of vitamin C everyday, I exercise everyday (weights, cardio 1-2 time a week), I drink a million oz of water everyday. What can I do? It seems like the cravings have gotten stronger. I only smoke 2-3 cigarettes a day. Help!! How can I get this nicotine flushed out asap?!
