SA??? What could aloha mean by that???? A22 (excellent question, btw), the one thing I have found most helpful from other people is their faith in me that I can stay quit. I know it's my quit and it's for me, and I believe that. But at the same time, knowing that others have faith that I can do it, and even look to me for an example, makes a really huge difference. Thanks everybody! Q23: What has a "suprise" benefit of this quit? A21: I was on day four, I think it was, when I found the SSC. It sure seems crucial to my success so far, but who really knows? i was very determined to quit, I had also found chantix. But, I am very very thankful to this site and the people here for encouraging, teaching, and laughing with me along the way. I said WITH, not AT, any of you SAs out there! Q22: What is the one thing that you have found most helpful from other people when you have been tempted to lose your quit? A20: I noticed a difference in my skin & hair after about 3 weeks, and I've noticed continued improvement since then. If this keeps up, I'll look the age I always tell everyone I am! Q21: Do you think this quit would have taken if you had not found the SSC? A19: I would tell myself to "make it" one hour at a time,I would be so proud of myself! I did alot of house work and went alot of places that I could not smoke. My favorite activity was going to a "Titanic" exhibit at a musuem. That really made the day fly by! Q20: When did you notice a physical difference in your skin, nails, lungs and whole body in general? A18) I think we buy into the idea that quitting is too hard or impossible and so we don't think we CAN quit. It's fear - of failure, of the unknown, of turning crazy and angry. That's what stopped me. Q19) What did you do to make the hours pass in those first couple weeks? Remember - when the clock would NOT move! PS I am amazed how confidently I answered that question! When my quit was a fledgeling, I was a bit worried about doing the Weekend Promise because 2 days seemed an awful long time compared to one day. A17) No. When you have been quit for a few months, then you would not worry about this question. When you have only been quit for a few weeks, then you are are obsessed with this question! If you have a crisis, come and shout at the SSC before you go anywhere near supplies of tobacco. Q18) What do you think stops us from quitting earlier than we did? This is a great thread Kev! A16) I am most grateful for my new smokefree friends :) Q17) Is there anything that would make you go back? A15 Obviously we are all obsessing over this question...lolol....I look at the big picture, and ask myself, "Is it really that important?" well, when I remember to, that is ;) Q16 What is the thing you are most grateful for now that you've quit?
