New chantix quitters

Way to go Lori!! 4 days and early too ? that is HUGE, I was such a baby that I held out not quitting until the very end (or start) of my quit date. I took Chantix and yes, it did give me the confidence to totally stop and now, stay quit. It is not a miracle drug, you will still feel cravings, urges and emotional swings. Arm youself with as much information on quitting as you can. Go thru the program here, it really is very helpful. Get yourself some support buddies in your life and know that you also have them here. Never, never let your guards down, temptation is every where and even chantix can't combat everything. Your best defense is being prepared, informed and educated.I am about to wean myself off of the Chantix, it has been 11 weeks. I am ready and am thankful that I have come this far :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 74 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,220 Amount Saved: $355.20 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 11 Mins: 32 Seconds: 50

Congrats Lori! Always check with your doctor or pharmacist regarding dosages and side effects and to help you come with a plan that is right for you and your body :) We are behind you all the way and those 4 days look great on you :) Josie, Support Specialist

Hi everyone -- I thought I'd start a new thread for those of us who are newly quit using Chantix. I am on day 4 of the quit and have been on Chantix for 8 days. I was supposed to quit on the 7th day, but decided to start the quit a little early. I am finally beginning to feel more human today. Between the Chantix and the nicotine withdrawal, I was stuck in a terrible fog for several days - it was pretty difficult to function adequately. But today there seems to be a little more clarity, so I am grateful -and am happy I have stuck it out. Something feels very different about this quit. I think I'm finally really ready to be done. It helps so much to be able to come here and read how this process has been for other people.
