Dream, my hubby decided the best way was to face them head on, so 7-10 days into our quit he had us in a smokey raw bar.

We were on vacation during hell week, wouldn't recommend it, but he took us everywhere we used to go as smokers and we faced it as non-smokers. In hindsight, we got it out of way, and I was glad for it later.
As for your car, get it washed, put some air freshener in it, etc....crank tunes, do something different....drive a different way, and know that each day you are putting great distance between your old rituals and new healthier ones.
