Yeah, what Lainey said. The failed quits are not failures, they are elementary school. You learn without even knowing you're learning & later on, that knowledge is the foundation for your life. That last post is awesome Lolo! You have probably helped alot of people with that one. Some of us can learn from others mistakes, some just think their invinceable and it will never happen to them, and some have to do it their own way, and fail themselves before they go on. I had quit so many times before I found this place, I sometimes wonder if I needed to go thru it that many times to learn what I needed to know, to learn how strong I had to be, and to learn how to plan my way around the events that could cause me to slip or fall. I think we all have to find our own path on this journey, and it is a very remarkable journey, one that teaches us more about ourselves than any other journey can. Each path is different, some more straight, some more winding, but our destination is the same. You are stronger now than the last time you quit, you have learned more than last time and you now know how to maneuver around some of the triggers, and now you know that your next quit will be much different, because you are stronger. Start a new path Lolo, a better and stronger one, towards the new life that you want for yourself and for your life! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 197 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,925 Amount Saved: $2,078.35 Life Gained: Days: 24 Hrs: 0 Mins: 53 Seconds: 42

Lolo, you only fail when you stop trying. I have tried so many times I've lost count & I NEVER liked smoking! So many if us have blown it so many times and it isn't a waste if it gives you ammo for the next one. This is the one that stuck for me. If the next one is the one that sticks for you, don't you want to get it going as soon as you can? You know you can do it, Lolo, you've done it before and you really want to. So get your lessons and your reasons and your plan and your strategies and grip them tight in one hand. Now give me your other hand and you can't light up! You are stronger than your addiction, Lolo, but together we are incredibly strong. Please promise that you will post, that you will ask for help before you smoke again. We will be there, just like you have been for others. You last post just makes my heart ache, I can feel how badly you want this. So, give yourself the gift of the thing you want so much. Do this for yourself, Lolo, & let your friends help you. You are right! It is all about deceptions we have been telling ourselves all these years. Fools, yes, but not anymore. Right? You didn't post much during the month. You didn't post asking for help. Yes, you made your choice. Now make another one. I WILL NOT SMOKE. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN! THIS GIRL IS TOO SMART! SHE'S KNOWS THE TRUTH! Believe in yourself Lolo. I know you will find it very liberating indeed. Ok I have watched this posted being looked at by 5 people in like 3 minutes! LISTEN!! You are not alone. I hate the fact that I failed myself. I feel like What is the point! I have smoked all these years why bother? But look. I gave myself a chance to see what It feels like to be a non smoker and it is heaven. I choose the path that I take. Me and only ME. I stuble I fall but I WILL pick myself off and dust myself off and try again. WHY try again you may ask, you failed twice now! ~~ WHY NOT? ~~ If I can go a total of over 130 days. I can do it twice as long! Thats why!! I am stronger than an addiction. I am stronger than to let my emotions and thoughts take over. "Why not just have one"? because I AM AN ADDICT!! I hate it. I hate being dependant on anything but the fact is I have been doing it so long that I need to learn how to NOT be dependent! How do I do that YOU may ask? One day a time, one minute at a time, one second at a time. Hi Grandma! Yes 30 days is a hump in itself (I should of paid closer attention to that!) But I need to focus on the I DON'T SMOKE ANY MORE! I need to focus on being a positvie role model to my children and their friends!! I need to focus on the fact that NICODEMON will be there on my shoulder for the rest of my life but I got the strength the will power and the determination to kick some ASH! Thank you Unhooked! I Don't want to smoke!! I got a medication that I believe will help. I really enjoyed being a non smoker. It felt like I could take a deep breath! I was over 100 days...Then a month. I feel stupid and like a faliure but I also know that I am only hurting myself if I don't stop smoking. But maybe that is the thing I am still learning. So therefore I am getting smarter!! LOL I was so comforted by smoking. Or at least that is what I thought. Once I quit smoking I realized that it is no longer a comfort. It is an addcition and a bad habit. So many years of my life depending on something that was really hurting me. If only I knew back then what I know now! Take it one day at a time, one minute at a time, one second at a time. What happened? Sometimes I just want to go see the little Nicodemon at the store so bad but hey if I only have 73 cents in my wallet and don't want to do the ATM that is enough so I get the fat straw and smoke away like right now. Was surprised to read this and it made such cravings I don't know why. Well best to just start over but even when you were smoking don't you remember a craving that came along like 30 minutes after you had one?
