Good for you! And for someone who almost had to stay in a smoking room....you came out pretty sane. You just keep hanging on and reaching out. Your friends will be around to see you right. And you are around to see us right in return. Love you girl, just keep keeping on.... Such a good post. You so right - hang on tight to all you do because in the end it's all worth it - all the sweat and tears. You do change the things you do in life after a quit. It's only five days for me, but already I can tell the changes. I have more time so I'm finding things that I haven't done in along time - I love my 8 tracks (Yes I'm young, 33, there is a whole story behind this), I fix em, play em, and trade em. Going to get back to that. My appetite surprisingly is not huge, I'm not eating everything in sight, but I'm picky about what I eat. Earlier I didn't feel like making lunch, pre quit, it was nothing for me to go to McD's. However, today - I coulda been sick just thinking about it. Went all the way to Panera and paid the money for good food (it was money I saved anyway SMILE). I imagine I will be able to play golf again soon as well - before it tired me out. I understand what you are saying about the quit experience. When you quit, you don't just quit the smoking, you quit everything that allowed to keep the habit. That even may mean a change in friends. I never quite recognized the division between non and smokers. But it is there. Thank you for a wonderful post! thanks for this wise Lady :) For me change is good with my quit :) I lost 20 pounds, but a few of them found me  I was able to get off my blood pressure meds just because I quit smoking and lost some weight :) after 7 years of being on them. I am told my skin looks better, I smell good and look freakin gorgeous :8|: It's all good over here! Change can be scary, especially if it happens quickly. For me, it's all been really exciting, not everyone is like that. But penguin, I cannot think of one single negative change that can come from quitting & I bet you can't either. Even if a friendship is lost, is it really a loss if that person can't celebrate such a positive thing with you and love you more for it? I don't think so. Hang tight, like Lady says, embrace it all, it's all part of a healthier, happier life and the journey to yourself. Thanks for this Lady. Kind of scary for me to think about all these changes right now though, as much as I do want changes, such as new hobbies, new friendships, new jobs to happen. This is a good reminder though that great things can happen, given time, and commitment and determination to keep quit. As always, you are a great inspiration to me.
