Starrideer, your stronger then that old nicoderm just kick him in the pants and tell him to go away you don't play his games any more. You can do this one minute at a time You are doing great hold on. Srarrider, you have to change how you look at the cigarettes. See them for what they really are! They were not your friend, they were killing you. Look at the packs of cancer sticks stacked neatly there, waiting to slowly kill someone else. Think about what is in them, how nicotine is a pesticide, and how many other hundreds of chemicals have been added to make you more addicted. Think about it, are you so sure you want to smoke now??? :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 187 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,675 Amount Saved: $1,972.85 Life Gained: Days: 22 Hrs: 21 Mins: 22 Seconds: 23

Hang in there Starrider! You are doing great! There will be more tough spots after this but each one gets easier and easier to get through and what you find on the other side is worth all the effort you put into getting there. I don't think its in your head, my bad time early in a quit is 21 days for some reason, I have lost more quits at 21 days than at any other time. Just fight through it, being at 12 days is awesome, the fights should get easier and easier. Starrider... YOU MADE IT, no padded cell, no SMOKES... SO SO Proud of you!! Sorry i missed you "junkie day". It sounds like you talked your way out of that one.. The car can be deadly.. I have cut up straws in my ashtray.. I have felt very overwhelmed by the junkie myself ALL WEEK long.. While you were napping, I jogged and walked about 25 min.. trying to get the junkie out of my mind... then quick shower, OFF TO MY REAL REWARD, a pedicure... what at great gift to an old lady with awful feet.. But ya know, after all that the junkie was in my head while I was driving home, "You are doing so great, just reward yourself with a smoke"!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!! I am thinking about going to the zoo and drinking heavy!! I'll let the animals talk to me... thank you everyone for all the great suggestions. sometimes it's hard when i am going through those bad times and i forget everything i've learned. i'm going to save this post and refer to it often. its easier to see it in print than to try and remember it when i'm in the middle of those junkie thoughts. i am doing a little better tonight. i took a nap this afternoon to escape and now my hubby is home so i have him to distract me. when i am alone is usually when the thoughts are there...i got through the day and i DIDN'T SMOKE!!! YEA!!!!!! thanks again...i don't know what i would do without this group and all of you. i am so glad i found this site. thanks for sharing your experience, strength and hope. thats what makes this place work. here are my stats: star = 1 junkie = 0 thanks for bumping the thread aloha...i'm going to go check it out My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 480 Amount Saved: $78.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 7 Mins: 35 Seconds: 56

starrider Here is a real weedy thing that I did when the craves seemed difficult...I got a stop watch and would drink water, do deep breathing and time when the crave showed up and when it went away...Fact is it was never more than 5 minutes and usually closer to 3...Once you do that you begin to see how transient the things really are...Without the stop watch you think that they are going on all the time... Stay well and here, you are doing a fantastic job... nonic My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 256 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,680 Amount Saved: $2,688.00 Life Gained: Days: 46 Hrs: 19 Mins: 30 Seconds: 40
