Tara, Are they any clinics in your area? Counselling sounds like a good choice, if you are opposed to meds. Try yellow pages, 411, and even your doctor. They may be able to give you numbers of counsellors in your area, as well as some free clinics. Take it one step at a time, and perhaps try our Panic Test. You can give the results to your doctor or counsellor. This will better help assess your situation. The Panic Program has been very successful for many of our members, and may be worth a peek as well. Please keep posting we are all here to help. Hope this helps, Josie

Hi Everyone, I know this may be a hard topic for some people to read but I have a question. Has anyone had to be hospitalized for their anxiety and panic? Sometimes I just want to go and get my self check to see if I would be admitted into psych ward. Since I am afraid of meds bc of their side effects I feel like the only way I would take them is if they made me and I was under Doctor supervision. I don't know if this is what I am looking for their is such a stigma with psych wards I just don't know if going there would worsen my condition bc I wouldn't want to believe its come to this but regular counsellig sessions are very hard for me to attend on a regular basis. Has anyone tried email counselling or telephone counselling I feel that may help me ??? Any service anyone can recommend I live in Canada??? thanks tara
