Movie: Thanks for Smoking

I saw Thank You for Smoking, it was great! The cool thing about it was the guy was just a guy, he wasn't evil. He was just doing his job & the company was lying to him, too. I don't know the other one, maybe before my time? :eg: My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 65 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,300 Amount Saved: $715.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 13 Mins: 44 Seconds: 27

Free, There was another movie out years ago based on a true story about he cigarette companies. I remember Dustin Hoffman was in it. It had something to do with the chemists that worked for the cigarette companies in the 70's and the secret stuff they were putting in cigarettes. Their cover got blown. You remember that movie...does anyone. It was real good movie and was true. Sort of like Erin Brokavaich (spelling..use phonics) Mercy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 177 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,540 Amount Saved: $791.19 Life Gained: Days: 23 Hrs: 7 Mins: 14 Seconds: 8

Couldn't sleep last night, just lying wide awake in bed. Finally got up, went downstairs and started flipping channels on TV. Came across this movie, I think it was on HBO called: Thanks for Smoking. It takes a sarcastic look at the smoking industry and how the tobacco companies spin things into their favor. Basically this guy plays the PR man for the tobacco industry and is always spinning words to make the tobacco companies look good throughout this whole movie. At first I thought it would be stupid, but I was interested throughout the whole thing. If you want a good laugh, and at times a serious look at how the tobacco companies play up their marketing with a positive spin, take a look.
