Told you I was going to do some reading. Wanted to share. THE QUIET PLACE INSIDE The tangled roots of addiction begin in my mind when I believe that the world is a land of trnkets promising happiness In this world I feel trapped surrounded by a moat of deep and shadowy waters of loneliness and despair. The knurled, spiny roots of addiction encase and squeeze my heart, forcing the memory of love to fade into darknes. Let me today come to realize that there is a quiet place inside of me, a place kept safe for me, where love lies protected and unharmed. Today my awareness of love shines light through the darkness of addiction. The light of love is who I am. Today I will take time to be still and listen to the truth about who I am. by L. Jampolsky Take the time to see the light of love within you today. Today the 'thoughts' have been almost constant. I've been walking beside them, around them, stomping on them, ignoring them, distracting them, eating with them, drinking with them, etc, etc. Takes a lot of energy. Can't seem to turn them off, and while this is frustrating me, I know that that was part of the Junkie's plan last time. NOT THIS TIME. I don't know how many times I've told myself today (maybe 15) that the thoughts will decrease in frequency, that it will get better, and that I will see this through to freedom this time, so BRING EM ON. I smile and chuckle because well...it feels good to feel good about this...and the Junkie hates that...being happy about it. So instead of trying to forget about it, I am going to do some reading about the addictive mind (have a book) and try and get some perspective on this. (Ammunition...this is war). Smoke free today. WHOOOHOOOO!!!!! Penquin, If you can......just go with the flow. Accept each day for what it brings. The old cliche....."roll with the bunches" You have a good head on your shoulders/flappers!! You took the time to analyze your pitfalls and learn from your past. I would venture to say that many successfull quiters (even here) got where they are at from past failures. All negatives can be worked out to be positives. I think a small reward would do you wonders.
