I made it through day 3 smoke free! We were an aide short last night, so being extremely busy at work really helped. *takes a bow* Day 4 is going amazingly well.
Thanks for all of the great support!

You're so close. How did you do?
After day 3 it's so much better and then each day gets better and better after that. Hang in there. Day 2 was a doozy for me too.

Cheeks,
Vent away! Just as your fellow members have said, smoking is not the answer. It will not solve the problems you are facing nor make them any less stressful to deal with.
We encourage you to reach for a different coping mechanism. Many members have found the following helpful:
* Journalling
* Taking a walk
* Talking to a friend
* Taking a long bath
* Taking a few deep breaths
* Finding a fun distraction
* Treating yourself
Hope this helps.

Jenn,
Lighting up won't do anything but start all the withdrawal all over again. Kick, scream, cry, punch a pillow, break dishes whatever it takes, just don't smoke. I isn't worth it. You are doing great!

Cheeks the only way to make them go away is to keep quitting. Brush your teeth, get some listerine and gargle with it, enjoy that fresh smell and taste, cherries are in season they taste sooooooo good, go get some.
go in the coping with craves section of this board, tons of great posts there. check out one by Joe Cool, gets me everytime.
Hang tough, this is important.

Agreed, agreed.
Smoking one is NEVER the answer. You have stress and smoking will only add to it - not take it away. Your stress will just have one more thing and this thing will take your life away.
Please please please do not light up!! Hang on - you can do it for 15 minutes, right? You have been doing it for two whole days!!!

Cheeks, your day will be even more stressful if you light up. It will smell & taste disgusting & you will feel sick & mad at yourself. Get yourself a small reward instead for the 2 days you've made it. Take a walk, get a snack, phone a friend, treat yourself to your favourite lunch. Just don't smoke, it won't make anything better. Hang in till the end of tth day & then reward yourself again for getting through it. It's a hard thing & you're doing it!!
