I'm no expert and you will see how long I've been trying,so I would encourage you to not loose a 20 day quit. I have gone backwards enough to know it will be just as bad the next time you quit. Why have to do it again? Andrew50, Congrats on THREE WEEKS! Have you been rewarding yourself along the way? I sound like a broken record but it really is important. You've got quite a bit of cash and a heck of a reason to celebrate - part with a couple bucks and do something meaningful for yourself. It gets so much better that it will take some time to even realize HOW much better. But only if you don't smoke ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/5/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1067 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 21,340 Amount Saved: $4,801.50 Life Gained: Days: 81 Hrs: 11 Mins: 24 Seconds: 28

WOOHOO!! Andrew!! Good for you & you're right, the junkie can be very convincing but he's also a coward & won't hang around if you keep standing up to him! Look at you with 20 days of freedom! Good for you Andrew! Sometimes it's pretty tough, but you came through with flying colors! Make sure you reward yourself often :) Doing this can certainly lift your spirits and make you smile! This battle is certainly worth the effort. I can tell you that there will be days in your future with NO craves. Yes, I said NO craves! Keep on doing what you're doing. It gets better and is so worth it! Andrew50, Not uncommon at the three week mark, known around here as blah week. Keep persevering! Employ other coping strategies such as physical activity, relaxation and rewards to help you push through! Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Stay in there. I'm right there with you just over 3 weeks for me. Smoking never fixed anything in your life and you know. It won't fix this problem. it will make it 100 times worse. If you want to be a full blown smoker again until it kills or cripples you, then go ahead and buy a pack. Otherwise, think of how lucky you are that you no longer smoke. Only smokers have cravings, only smokers have withdrawals. Non-smokers do not deal with these things. Get in the "I'm a non smoker" mind set. Understand this. 3 weeks is considered the longest point that any one is physically addicted to nicotine. You are there. Everything else is in your head. Unless of course you are on an NRT then you still need to battle both but be happy you are not smoking. Sorry for who posted it but you did not "survive" 3 weeks. You conquered physical addiction of a very powerful drug. You can't just "survive" because you will be surviving your whole life. You must now conquer the mental battle. You are not physically addicted to nicotine any longer. Go celebrate that. Now spend time on the mental battle. You can do it. No one here is any different than you. it's not will power. You do not want to smoke right? Why would you fight for something you don;t even want? Andrew, Deep breaths help, sucking on a straw helps, distracting yourself helps, just coming here and reading and posting helps! Smoking is not an option! NOPE! Make that your mantra and keep on going one day at a time! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 124 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,100 Amount Saved: $1,308.20 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 4 Mins: 18 Seconds: 10
