Oh yes, I recognize the voice of the addict and the junkie think. It's always there and easy to confront when you know what you're dealing with, an idiot.
Something bothered me so much I went to the doctor's office for a cure. She told me to cut back on spicey foods but I enjoyed what bothered me so much that now that I know what causes it I can take this afliction to entirely new levels of bother. Hooray! Whoopi!

You know, it's just like if your dr says, hey cut the spicy food. It makes me think "hey, it's been a while since I've had Mexican. El yummo".

Hello Carylene,
My experience has been much like yours; it's better for me to acknowledge it than ignore it. And look how well you're doing! I'm so happy for you! We're going to get it done! I feel so good about not smoking. This is the way it was always supposed to be.

Acknowledging it does work. I also remind myself how hard it is to quit smoking and if I have one I start over.

maybe I am odd, but whenever I have a crave or smoking thought, the more I try to put it out of my head, the more it comes back and the stronger it is. It seems when I do the opposite, I say to myself "hey someone wants a ciggy" and kind of pick it apart, like think about it as a living thing that looks like the mucinex guy, it blows away like a puff of smoke, really fast.
It works for me.
