Kujo I would suggest doing a search of old threads...maybe something will strike a chord in you that will turn the tide from "I'm afraid of quitting" to "I am excited about quitting" There are threads dealing with all kinds of things; coping strategies, dealing with "break time" in a different way, handling emotions, etc. And, as newme said, the program workbook to the left is very helpful. Get those coping strategies, and rewards, lined up, and we will support you all the way. You can do this. -aloha My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 75 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,000 Amount Saved: $510.00 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 13 Mins: 6 Seconds: 29

Hi kujo, Have you done the online program here at scc? Educating yourself about this addiction can really help in the motivation department. Once you really believe all the evils of smoking and nicotine, your committment to quit will grow. My advice, educate yourself, surf the net for info on smoking, read and read. Stay firm on your new quit date, prepare yourself, and go for it! Freedom from nicotine addiction is allllll good. Poisoning ourselves everyday is alllll bad. You make it happen. new me My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/26/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 10 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 240 Amount Saved: $50.00 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 11 Mins: 10 Seconds: 8

My mind and soul are ready to quit, but I don't think I'm ready. I keep changing my quit date....I am on the road to "preparing to quit", but the fear...what will I do w/o my trusty "stoges"? How will I deal with the daily stresses...especially my job. I truly dislike my working environment and I smoke at least 10 cigarettes there during the day. It's time to make it official (I suppose). June 15, 2007 is my quit date...just stating that, made my nerves jump. Anyone with ideas how to combat this anxiety of quitting?
