JDK Smokefree Diary / General Thread

18 years ago 0 1113 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi All, The 47 days thing is just 1st July, which is when the smoking ban comes into effect. In reality of course, I will be quitting way before then. If I take that long a break, then momentum is lost and probably would never quit. I'll reset my counter to the actual day I quit like normal. Mindset is very important for me. I'll also go back to writing an hourly log of my thoughts as that helped a lot. Thanks for the support guys. Oh Kev, so sorry to hear that you didn't make it this time. But, from personal experience, I know that once you've had a successful stretch, you will have more confidence the next time. And you will probably quickly realize how much better you felt not smoking. BUT don't stay away too long!! Why 47 days? Is there some significant happening between now and then to keep you from trying sooner? Just think about it, ok? We still love ya, and will be here when you are ready! Take a break, if that is what you need. Rework the plan....you had a plan, right? It won't be long till you find smoking is terrible and will have the desire to quit strong, and you WILL find the COURAGE. Been there.....many times. Not going there again. I shouldn't let Mr Ed's sensibilities stop you from re-mounting the horse! Camels are too high and can have a nasty bite. Keep in touch. Wouldn't be the same without you. Eek, I had completely forgotten about SSC's own talking horse Mr Ed. Don't worry, I'll think of another mode of transport. Are there any camels in the audience? I'm also wondering where Phil is about to take me. Does it have cushioned walls? :) Although I had planned on taking a break from here while I am going through my 'bad quitter' phase, it's kind of my daily routine now. Anyway, what would a journal be with days missing? Oh the irony! I hope there aren't any more leaving do's for a while. The only good news is that I can see a full gig for a couple of months before I regroup and get back on the horse.
