feel so helpless sometimes

Hi new me. I have to say the attitude thing is right. If you are positive and really happy to quit it is MUCH EASIER. Don't Feel like you "got" to quit....instead, feel like you "get" to quit. It isn't doing it "to" you..... your doing it "for" you. Make a list of some real serious reasons you have. Tell us why you want to quit.....and that shows you what your reasons are. Any reasons that is important to you is good enough.....but it has to be "your" reason. Come here often....and get excited about your new journey and new life. Welcome New Me, You are in the right place. I also smoked for over 30 years and this is my first quit and I hope my only one. I am taking the pill Chantix and it has worked for me. I have had to work the program and have had my good and bad days but when I come here and read I find a sense of calm. Good luck on your quit. Keep coming back :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 59 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,180 Amount Saved: $383.50 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 10 Mins: 17 Seconds: 17

Hi, I have been reading at this site and finally decided to share. I have been smoking for over 30 years with numerous failed attempts to quit using every NRT that exists. I am now reading The Easy Way to Quit Smoking..I don't know if I believe that there is any easy way, (considering what I have been through in the past). What I get from this book, basically, is to have a positive attitude. Be happy to be free from the addiction. That is very hard for me to do at times when the "little monster" starts up. I have set my quit date for tomorrow. I believe that having this site to turn to will be another helpful tool in finding freedom from nicotine. I want to be the non smoking "new me".
