That's what I was thinking, too, aloha. The junkie in my head is used to getting an extra shot of nicotine before, after or during certain activities so when I'm doing those those things, she starts to anticipate her treat & has a trantrum when she doesn't get it. For the past week, she's been getting a steady dose & didn't notice right away that she was missing her treats. I have to work on removing those associations. How are you doing anyway, with the sadness & stuff we talked about yesterday?

Maybe the cravings are not physical but psychological? I know that's been at the root of my strongest ones. Usually involving times or events where I usually would have smoked, like in the early evening, while I was trying to complete a task but needed a break from it, or waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to go back to sleep. Once I figured out what the trigger was, they usually subsided after a while, and knowing why helps me deal with them until they do.

Thanks, guys. It's sticking, Lainey. I got the good ones this time. I tried the store brand before & they were hopeless. I'll carry on & see how it goes for the next week.

Hey Guys! Check if your patch is sticking properly. I had a lot of trouble with them not sticking, and when they don't stick, you aren't getting your proper dose, hense the cravings. That would be my first guess!
Instructions on the patch say to wipe your arm with rubbing alcohol and they will stick better. :)

unhooked,
Do not be discouraged! This is normal and will pass. Take the time to ask your doctor and pharmacist regarding side effects and dosages.
You are doing a great job and you should be proud, continue on this positive path :)

Unhooked,
I am on the patch too. I am having cravings but they have gotten better from the first few days. The first few days all I did was crave. Now the craves are less frequent but they are still pretty strong. I started out on the middle level because I was only smoking about 10 or 15 a day. I am thinking that some of those craves might actually have been from a decease in nicotine but I am not sure? I don't know why we would both still be craving if we are getting a steady stream of nicotine? Maybe someone else can answer this. Hang in there! Hey maybe your patch wasn't delivering enough nicotine at the time?

Hey, everybody. yesterday was a week on the patch for me and the first cravings! Isn't that kind of weird? I don't understand why I would have had no problem for a week & then wham! Also, I'm still getting nicotine so why crave at all? Memory cravings maybe, or I haven't put enough defenses in place for triggers? Still working on it, I'm not in any danger of losing it or anything. It's kind of annoying is all.
