Sweet a 50 day cruise! If anyone needs me Ill be behind the bar making drinks. Remeber, now that we don't smoke we can enjoy the taste of a drink all that musch more! Recently I got off the patch and even started having a beer now and then. I was worried drinking would be my downfall so I stopped for 4 weeks. (not that im a big drinker) Now I can really taste the beer so much better and I love it more without smoking. Hi everybody, it hasn't been the best day. My pup had diahhrea last night while lying on my stomach as I watched and dozed at a movie..After a lot of cleaning this a.m. I found out someone kicked in three boards in my fence on the street side. Had replacements but were warped and too long. What a hassle, got grandson to help cut them shorter. Also for some reason pool water is turning green and they are closed for holiday till Tues. I've been back to smoking the fat straw. Good thing I don't have any cigs stashed or I would smoke one. So how was your day?? Hi Danielle, I so agree with you regarding the fact that all is not so rosey and that's what this is support group is for, to be able to come and let our feelings be known so that we can help one another out. I posted that fact earlier this morning. Keeping a good attitude is paramount but sometimes it can only take you so far especially when life throws you a curve ball or when you seem to have unending craves. Thanks for checking in on us.. we have a super group of people here and I'm so proud to be a part of it ! Hey Shakes, Totally hear you when you talk about money and anxiety. But it sounds as though you were able to work through it. Now, you know that we're all here for you prior to you leaving to see your parents. If you need to talk about the pre stress of being around smoker's or you just want to get some things off your chest we're just a post away :) I watched the original "King Kong" movie, including "Mighty Joe Young".. I snacked on a heaped tray of cut veggie's and my own light dressing that I made from scratch.. MMMMMmmmmmmmmmm.. tasty ! I've had a totally relaxing day. Tomorrow I head out to the gym in the morning, can't weight.. er wait ! LOL ! That's it for me for today. Have a super evening everyone ! Good afternoon April Ashkickers! It is nice to see you are all doing well! Mitch, Not all posts will be positive and upbeat but this site is intended to give individuals a safe place to vent when the security of their quit has been rattled. Shakes, Sorry to hear the anxiety monster got ya. :p You may find it helpful to bring along a few coping strategies for your meetup with your parents just in case you do experience an increase in cravings. Have a great weekend everyone! Danielle ______________________ The SSC Support Team

Yeah they are. Thanks, Melissa! I just bought another 4-week dose of Chantix and had a panic attack about money! I know it's totally and completely worth it. And that's what credit cards are for, right? But, Jeez... The Anxiety Monster will grab onto anything he can to pull you back in to his grasp, won't he? Plus, next weekend is my trip to St. Louis to meet up with my parents. They smoke like fiends and are major triggers. Actually feeling what I just felt, and the cravings that followed: It makes me realize that I haven't felt them in a long time. It means I'm doing really well. And that I shouldn't become to lax; that I should stay armed and ready. But how cool is it to have tools to deal with this stuff when it pops up. Anyway! Great to hear from so many of you. Off to do my last performance of the play I'm currently in. --Shakes My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/5/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 52 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,040 Amount Saved: $468.00 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 13 Mins: 52 Seconds: 35

Hello everyone!!! It was so good to see so many Ashkickers checkin' in! We are all doing so well! Carylene... good to see you, you are doing great! Shakes... my parents have gone home now and I didn't see your post till after they left. We had a wonderful visit. My parents knew I smoked, but I never smoked in front of them. So, back when I smoked when they visited I would have to find a reason to get away to go smoke. When we'd go eat on the way home my boyfriend would try to get a good distance from them (my dad usually follows us home after we eat) so we could smoke. Yesterday was nice... didn't have to deal with any of that!!! Glad to hear you are feeling better!!! Lolo, your stats are awesome!!! Keep up the great work!!! Mitch, You are right. There are posts on the site that aren't so upbeat. Everyone handles life differently and everyone handles stress differently. Everyone handles quitting smoking differently. I am of the mind that being positive is the only way to go. Where is the negative thoughts gonna get us? Yes, there are days when I don't feel well or just have a rough day when I may not be as "bright and chipper", but I am still thinking positive. I think the upbeat, postive posts are what helps get a lot of people through the rough patches. I do read other posts on the site. BUT, if I am having a rough day I will steer clear of the less positve posts. Only because I don't want to think that way. For me, negative thoughts makes the quit harder than it has to be. There are times when our fellow Ashkickers are having a hard time and the posts may not be happy happy happy. BUT, we are here to help each other through the rough patches, but for the most part... when you read this thread you are gonna hear how great it is to be a non-smoker! Jean, congrats on droping 11 pounds!!! That is great! You are doing great! Take a day and paper yourself, you deserve it! jon, good to see ya. Looks like some explained the ship to ya before I got back. The ship is our next BIG accomplishment, 50 days smoke free! And we gonna party! LOL! banana, sounds like you work some really long weeks. Take it easy and rest when ya can! You are doing great! Bear, good to see ya! Well, I am doing good today. Had a wonderful visit with my parents. They have gone back home now though. Still smoke free and I think I am gonna start getting my things together for the ship. I am ready for the sun and fun!!! Today I think I am gonna do nothing... Wash my uniforms for work, but other than that do nothing! Sounds like fun, wonder if the kids will let me.. LOL!!! Have a good Sunday everyone, talk to you again soon! Mitch, CONGRATULATIONS on 28 days smoke free!! It does feel good & you celebrate it. We are a positive bunch & we play nice together ;) I think that most people are drawn to positive energy & good things happen to those that are. Drop in on us more often, so we can applaud your stats. That goes for everyone. Lou P, great idea to post the list! YES, we should have one h*ll of a party onboard the ship on June 19th! Count me in!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/2/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 55 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,375 Amount Saved: $452.10 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 20 Mins: 54 Seconds: 19
