Sounds like a plan then. Just do your best to focus on getting through that first day, NO MATTER WHAT. And to remain positive.!!! The breathing always helps to release tension. The sooner you get started, the less chance of this becoming a phobia. Welcome the opportunity to turn things around and to take control of your life again. Don't let doubt stand a chance. Feed yourself constant positive thoughts and only positive thoughts like "I CAN DO THIS" "I CAN DO THIS WELL" PUT UP THAT STOP SIGN IF DOUBT STARTS TO CREEP IN.... :) DON'T FIND AN EXCUSE TO BACK OUT OF FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH IT, EITHER DO IT, EVEN YOU DON'T WANT TO...!!!!!!!!!!!

Runner, Have your read any books on panic? I know 2 that have really helped me are Dont Panic & Embracing the Fear. They all say exactly what Kitcat is telling you, they just explain panic and all the physical symptoms so perfectly. Take it from someone who thought every muscle spasm was "the big one". They also have great breathing and relaxation excersies. One exersise that I do every day (panic or not) Is a breathing 10 count. It goes like this. Take a deep breath from your diaphram. INHALE EXHALE WHILE SAYING A CALM WORD (like relax, calm, quiet etc.) THEN BREATHE NORMAL COUNTING BACKWARS FROM 10 SLOW, CALM RELAXING BREATHS. CONCENTRATE ON YOUR BODY PARTS RELAXING WITH EVERY BREATH. THINK ONLY ABOUT EACH BREATH. This gives you a chance to clear your mind. I do this every day even though I'm not currently in a state of panic. I have even done this in my car, while shopping, in meetings. It works. Keep moving forward, it my be uncomfortable for a bit but the way you will feel once your done is unbelievable. It will take time but every day is a little eaiser. Am I right Kat? S

And it sure is good to have a friend with the same views as your counselor in the meantime. Its great that Kit knows it may be a storm outside, but does not focus on that, but looks to the sunny day that will follow. As she knows it will come!
