Hi Jan We should set up a club buddy - I slipped at the weekend! But look at us - We're back girl and just watch us go. Slipping shows us how precious our quits are and that what we really crave is being smoke free. So c'mon buddy, we can do this because we are doing this!! I admire your honesty and tenacity Jan - I have no doubt that it's ever onward for you. We learn and we move on. First thing you have to do is tell yoursel you Love yourself enough to forgive yourself and then just move on the the next step. No more sad faces just happy smiles as you start a new journey :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 50 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,006 Amount Saved: $325 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 23 Mins: 56 Seconds: 13

Good morning Jan... Good for you ! Getting back into your smoke free life :) I just went through ,, going through a rough patch myself and slipped and I too am back. I posted in the avoiding relapse category and I know what you meant yesterday about the tears welling up as I felt exactly the same way after having 2 cig's. But I can tell by your words that you are going to come through all of this a bigger winner than you already are. I've read many of your inspirational posts and you are a shining star here at the SSC ! All the very best to you :) Jean My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 36 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 906 Amount Saved: $369 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 1 Mins: 53 Seconds: 40

Wow! You've got to know how good you make me feel! I'm glad to be back. And I will NEVER give up. So I am going out today to pick up the 21mg patch. I'll start at the highest level as that's where I'll have the most success. Its time to stop beating myself up over this and to get back on my feet again. Its time for me to start offering my help to others again because I find that to be very important to my own quit. It takes my mind off of myself and it makes me feel good again. So I'm BAAAACK!!!! With all the bells and whistles attached. Cheers, Jan(Quit date to follow. Most likely tomorrow or Saturday at the latest)

Hi Jan. Don't look at this as a failure. You did a trial run of 100+ days. You learned a lot by the time you were quit and I bet you also will learn a lot from this relapse. What happened, happened. So figure out where you went wrong and what you can do differently this time. And it's ok to give yourself a few days if you need it. No matter what hits you next time, you can say, "I made it over 100 days before, I can definitely stay away from smoking this time". Just don't stay away too long or it will be harder to jump back in. We'll be here to support you when you are ready! Jan, I know how the nic can sneak up on you. Are you comming back soon? I hope so because we can never give up. You will be stronger the next time. After my little slip I hated myself so bad. Now I know I will make it. If you need a buddy I am here. Jan, It's not where you start it's where you finish. Learn from this experience and get back to it. Your 100+ days will serve you well in the next quit. We are cheering you on! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Been there & done that! I know you want to be free. I know it like I know I want to be free. We wouldn't keep going through this if we didn't. Lesson learned, and now back to the drawing board. Get your plan out and make some additions and alterations. Get back on the patch, pronto! Make a list of all the reasons that will make you smoke. Develop a list of coping techniques. There is no reason good enough. Close all the back doors. This site and all the people here who want to see you succeed, cannot help you if you do not let us know your contemplations and when ol nic is after you. Like Pam says, you have to post, and wait. I believe that we are failing to follow through with the plan and one very simple fact - We are addicts and WE CAN NOT SMOKE. Not if we want to be free. I know you can do this. You know you can do this. You have to BELIEVE. Looks like we have a third Sparky!!! Hi Jan, We all hurt with you! I'm sure it sneaked up on you in a weak moment, but you are stronger now, and you have re-dedicated yourself to your quit. The meter isn't such a big deal, it's whatever it is to you. If you feel the need to reset it, by all means do so. If you don't, then don't. Please stay with us. You have helped so many who would love to help you in return. You certainly understand the power of this site, so use what we have to offer. Lighten up...next time, throw dishes!
