smokey - Is your desire to smoke stronger than your desire to quit? Stress or no stress, smoking is not an option if you're quit, period. Take some time to decide just how important your quit it, without this clarity, you will go up and down with a quit. I am new as well, and realize there are going to be stressfull days, but for me, smoking cannot be an option. Stress is part of life, and what I have done (and probably others) is that I MUST have a ciggie because I am under stress. However, why should I hurt myself because of something which I can either not control or can control? If I can control it, then that is what I should be doing - and if I can't then I have to live with it. I am not saying I have all the answers, but I am really serious and do not want to hurt or be misearable anymore with this addiction.

Smokey, Re-read what you posted: I have smoked 3 cigarettes today..........too much stress Someone could interpret that to mean that your 3 cigarettes caused too much stress! And it's true - smoking is going to cause you to feel more cravings, more guilt about smoking, and more self-doubt -- sounds like a recipe for stress! So, put the rest of your cigarettes under the faucet and drench them good. Did you do it? Good, now you're a non-smoker! First of all, I congratulate you on going 19 day. Next, get rid of the smokes. Next, get out your reasons for quitting. Commit your self to not smoking for the next 5 minutes You have not failed. You have learned a powerful lesson. You smoke one and then you'll smoke another, and another, unless you STOP! Do not give up on trying. This is a very hard thing to do, but not impossible. Get back up and do it again. Whatever the reason, before you smoke, you must come here and post. You are here because you want the support. Use it. This is not impossible, but it's a choice. The freedom will be worth it. I know because I am told it is so, and I BELIEVE IT!!!! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hiya, ive had that feeling over the last week, ive been that tempted to go and buy some fags, what stopped me? having to go through those headaches again and the sleepless nights, having my lungs clam up after the 2nd puff, not tasting my food again Try and think about why you quit in the first place, i know how easy it is to get back into the old habit but ive now learnt, from other people that ciggies do not relieve the stress, for me its the nicotine but i whack a patch on. You can do it again, i know its hard, have you got anything to replace it, like a patch or pills? Sorry to hear that you slipped I know how hard it is not to smoke under stress heck i'm 60 days in and still like having a smoke everyonce and a while. What helps me get through the cravings and what might help you next time you attempt to quit is chewing a lot of gum, going for long walks, and also heh those jolly rancher fruit chews really help me. But dont give up and keep on trying again and again till you finally quit. GL AND DONT GIVE UP :)
