This is my 4th and FINAL quit.. it's not an attempt.. it's a definite quit with the attitude that with every passing moment, day, etc. it is a time to celebrate rather than to feel like I'm missing something.
I want to laugh at a crave.. fight HIM off with everything I have and then be HAPPY that I DID IT and then do something fun for myself, even if it means laying down to rest coz the crave knocked my socks off and a rest is something my body needs and will need for a long time.
I don't know .. I know there will be days where I'm going to probably be a cranky old b*tch, but overall I want this to be something that I have total control over and I don't want my quit to be a negative because it opens up a whole new and exciting life for me. Make sense?

Hi Jean! This is my ---th quit. I lost count. But this time has been very different and the only thing I can account it to, is my attitude. And it has been way easier. Last time I was ranting, raving, letting the anger loose, and it did not help one bit. This time, I am taking it one little step ata time, trying to laugh and working on keeping one thing in my head.

I just started my quit yesterday, with 2 weeks prior to quitting doing a lot of reading here at this site and I came to a conclusion -
I AM going INTO this with a POSITIVE and CELEBRATORY attitude towards stopping this vile habit.
Was wondering what other's views on this type of attitude has on being an easier quit vs. a tougher quit.

I agree with you about the attitude. I do much better when I am thinking positively! When I am negative and in a bad mood, the craves seem so much stronger. So up with sun I go, sounds corny, but if it helps, it helps.

I have come further than I ever thought possible and it's almost 100% due to my attitude towards being a non smoker. At the end of every crave, every day I smile the biggest smile ever and say outloud that I AM CONQUERING this addiction !
Personally I just think that life is so damned short already and I have NO intentions in making it any shorter with a butt in hand.
With every little roadblock here and there I find a solution.. Felt that tiredness and took advice re napping when needing to and also drink more juice (pomegranate and blueberry) and the combination of those two things have helped a lot !
It all comes from within.. deep within and it surfaces into an incredible celebration each and every day :) :)

They don't say, "Attitude is everything" for nothing. "Attitude of gratitude" is what works for me. It works for everything in my life actually.
There are trials along the way in life. Quitting was one of them. But it is soooooo possible to have and to feel the calm in the storm. It comes from within.
