Who are the Febuary 07 Quitters?

Nursey, you woke me uuuuuup!! You've gotta say that like a baby. ;) Congratulations!! You did so great to come here and vent instead of smoking. You handled this craving just right. Good for you!! Didn't you and your hubby quit together or close together? It would be soooo hard to go into a quit together and then one fall off of the wagon. I know you're mad/upset/worried to see the work he's put into his quit tumbling down but girl, please don't let his slipping take it's toll on you. Your quit is for YOU. I don't know that you are a control freak. I believe you've prepared yourself and you're fully aware of what smoking can do to a body. I also believe you've armed yourself and know quite a bit about quitting and how to get through it. Education doesn't mean that you're a control freak. But you do have to remember that your hubby is an addict too and his slipping may actually be a part of his quitting. I know how badly you want your husband to quit and he very well may jump right back in there and get on with his quit. I think it would be hard for you to monitor two quits at the same time. Lord, one is enough!! As bad as you want him to quit, let your hubby be responsible for his quit while you're responsible for your own. Try to turn your disappointment around and give your husband the encouragment, and pointers, he needs while mainly focusing on your own quit. I don't know if I've helped any but I sure do have ears anytime you want to vent. Hey all, It must be a lack of sleep that brings out the cravings...I'm a crabby mess and I'm dying for a smoke right now, but instead I am here. Hubby went out after work with the boys and apparently had a couple beers AND smokes. I truly have no patience for this behavior...I feel he's weak and simply not fighting hard enough. I'm not this critical on anyone else for some reason, only him. He keeps using his stressful job as his excuse, and it really gets under my skin. Does he think my job isn't stressful? Does he not remember that I'm doing this quit without the benefit of mood-enhancing drugs or other things? And he's got (well, ok, HAD) Wellbutrin to help him through it and still smoking? Arrrrggghhhh I'm ready to kill him. I have become more of a control freak than I ever thought possible. With people with eating disorders, they say it becomes more about control than about food...maybe this quitting smoking has brought out that inner control freak. MomMom...I've never been a control freak, have I? Am I turning into another version of my big sister??? Ok, having vented, I feel the urge has mostly passed. Now I must go on and get some work done. Good day all...by the time you read this I will hopefully be sleeping!!! ~nursey My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 51 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 768 Amount Saved: $229.5 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 15 Mins: 26 Seconds: 2

Hello February Quitters! Tutti, In the past when you got sad, what did you do? You probably smoked a little more than usual. So now, when you're sad, you'll crave. Be sure to reward yourself and do anything that might make you feel better. Find an outlet for your emotions like journalling and get enough sleep as this also affects mood. Keep persevering! Let's keep the check in going! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

Legend, get some sunflower seeds if you're going to be on the road. I'll be thinking of you. If you get a chance to check in, I'll be looking for you. I know you'll be just fine. Take along some real good music too. I remembered an idea I had before for traveling......Buy some of those huge, fuzzy, lime green, tacky dice and hang those tacky dice on your rearview mirror. You can't take 'em down until you get back home. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!! Tacky dice and sunflower seeds, you can't go wrong. LOL Hugs, Tutti My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,462 Amount Saved: $193.86 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 19 Mins: 2 Seconds: 20

Just checking in, glad to know everyone is still sound, non-smoking, and at least partially sane! I'm going to be on the road on business this weekend, with triggers abounding! I'm sharpening my sword to run through the nicodemon if I find him. I think I'll have internet access tomorrow night, so I'll probably check in with my non-smoking buddies then. I promise my Febularian Friends that I won't have one, you guys do the same. Hugs to all. Hey Tutti and Changing! Tutti, welcome back, I've been looking for you. Both of you are such great supporters of this post, and of the SSC. Tutti, can you get on the IM? :quest: There is usually someone there, or just get on and post something like JT or Legend did and YELL REAL LOUD and we'll be there to talk you through it. :) I can't say I've experienced what you are going through, but I have heard a lot about the 50 (or is it 60) day rough period. I don't want to jinx my quit by offering any advice, but you already know what to do. Tutti, way to stop those demons. We can all use a little more sleep anyway (just ask Nurse). Julie throws dishes and crushes coke cans. Maybe you can find a creative way to discourage them...poking them in the eye or kicking them in the **** comes to mind. If they hit you, you have my permission to hit 'em back! Mom said! Good luck, stay close, we are here. BTW, your stats are AWESOME! Hi Tutti, Yeah, cravings suck. But you just have to keep p***ing that demon off, don't you, Tutti?... :eg: I'm glad it's still too cold to keep my windows open at night - I'm at that stage where I sometimes talk back to the evil nico voices "Stop it, stop it, I'm NOT going to smoke." It's like saying no to a little kid having a temper tantrum. Actually, it's much easier than dealing with a cranky toddler :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 51 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 929 Amount Saved: $280.5 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 2 Mins: 32 Seconds: 0

Tutti - I'm so happy to hear from you. And, I'm so sorry that you're struggling so much right now. I'm right there with ya sister! Check out my post today: It feels like a marathon and my endurance is being tested! Sometimes I feel like getting through a day is like walking a mile in cement filled shoes! We've been through a lot already - I know we'll get through this as well. And if not, I just might be looking to buy a pair of those cement shoes! ;) We Can Do This! Cigarettes Not Smoked

I'm still here and smoke free. I am having some pretty strong cravings from time to time and for some reason, I feel really down in the dumps with no energy at all. I mean, I feel completely out of sorts and depressed. I feel like I need some kind of a change but haven't figured out just what will make me feel better or why I'm feeling this way. I'm just not myself at all. I've been having more cravings over the last several days. Not just a few days but several days now. The other night, I actually thought for a second about going down and buying a pack. I was hit with a hard craving, sat down with my face in my hands, and thought to myself, "You know, I've had just about enough of this crap." Then I jumped in the shower, got ready for bed, and went to sleep while the demons stayed up and played. The A**HOLES!!! I don't know about ya'll but I'm seriously tired of these cravings, mood swings, and fighting all of the time. Oh, I won't give in....I'm just saying that this SH*T stinks!!! Got that off of my chest. Stay Strong, Tutti My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 54 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,458 Amount Saved: $193.86 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 18 Mins: 48 Seconds: 52
