Jean - so glad to see you back here. You will get through this rough patch. I know you are hurting now, but life goes on, broken hearts heal and you never know what wonderful thing might be around the next corner. And maybe without this experience you'd miss it! Stay strong in that quit - over time it will help make you feel even better, both physically and emotionally. And come and vent here whenever you need to - as you can see, there are lots of people who care here. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 46 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 560 Amount Saved: $187.68 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 7 Mins: 38 Seconds: 45

Angel.. thank you ! And yes, I can see by the posts here that there are many who have come out to support me and I must say how overwhelmed I feel by it all. Got in from a very brisk walk. Pretty chilly outside but quite refreshing. I stopped off at the store on my way back and found 'Extra' makes sugar free bubble gum :p As a kid I loved DOUBLE BUBBLE and this stuff smells and tastes just like it ! (little things make me happy..lol) So now I've got like THREE pieces in my mouth and I'm blowing bubbles :) What a kid huh ? Ok.. off in an hour for another walk and I'm going to my favourite park and stare out into the horizon and listen to the birds sing :) Jean My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 40 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,013 Amount Saved: $410 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 13 Mins: 19 Seconds: 40

My friend Monica wrote this for inspiration and sent it to me in an email just minutes ago. I thought I would share it with you - Sometimes it feels as though lightning is striking all around... But we learn to cope while planting our feet on solid ground. Throughout our lives we are faced with trials and tribulations, which at the time feel unbearable to handle. Look deep inside for the guiding light and glow of your flickering candle. We are all much stronger than we really know... And the realization of our inner strength will one day surface and begin to show. Each and everyone of us - Young and old ... Have much to contend with in our lives. Some situations are more difficult and harder to bear... But with time, acceptance and healing we will survive! When life's burdens become too much - Always remember that there are people who truly love us and never sway. They will be there to encourage us and guide us along the way! With faith, hope and love in our grasp.. We must believe that - THIS TOO SHALL PASS ... Jean....You should be so proud of yourself right now!!! You are such an inspiration to me. Stress is an ugly monster, but smoking is uglier. Hang tough...I will be cheering you on... Thank you all very much for the very warm welcome back  I'm on very shaky ground right now and feeling fragile as all hell but I know one thing for sure and that is to really dig down deep and do all I can to move forward with my smoke free life. One moment at a time. I've been told that extreme stress can bring on cravings and I've been having great big one's but I'm keeping busy and going for lots of walks - as I was doing before the sh*t hit the fan. I've also been given a wonderful gift from Monica and that's to call her day or night if/when things get REAL bad. She's my angel :) Ok.. now to get on with life and NOT smoking soooooooo I'm heading out for another walk ! See you all later...
