Congrats for making it through a tough situation without smoking! Next time, you can draw on the strength from this experience... you'll be able to say to yourself, "I made it through that fight with my son, so I can DEFINITELY make it through this too!" Congrats on winning this battle against nicotine... and for not killing your son in the process! :p
Crave the Quit!

lavndr, I understand. I considered giving up my quit this week because of tensions in my life. Instead, I decided to use the situation as an opportunity to learn how to deal with those tensions without a smoke.
I haven't done that since I was a kid, and that was a long, long time ago. So, it doesn't come naturally. I have to learn how to manage those sorts of problems without resorting to cigarettes... and I can do that. If I could do it when I was 12... I can do it now. :) It just takes some retraining.
Non-smokers deal with these kinds of issues all the time... without a smoke. And that's what I'm becoming; a non-smoker. Little by little, with every new day, with every challenge and circumstance.

Lavndr, stay with us here. Smoking will not change the situation. It will not make teenagers easier to deal with and it also sets a bad example about how to handle frustration and anger!
If you already slipped up, then you know it didn't really fix anything and just get right back up and plan for how to handle this differently next time.
If you stayed strong, then pat yourself on the back and give yourself a mini-reward for getting through one of your first hurdles.
Keep the quit!

Hi Lavndr, Don't let the cigarettes win this one (Or any one for that matter) Take some deep breaths, slowly, deliberatley and it will help, both to calm you and for the craving to pass!
You can do this, you know you can! :)
