I went from a daily cough as a smoker to no cough. I'm not complaining!

Helix,
I coughed every morning when I smoked - ghastly!! From the moment I quit, it stopped - wonderful!!
During the last 3 years I have wasted no time fretting about where my cough went and neither should you!
Congrats on 19 days.
Just keep doing it!

Relax :) We are all different - I had no cough, just not my quit process.
Don't go looking for what's not there, and don't compare quits, friend.
Yours is yours and you are blessed!
Healer
I have been expecting a cough since I stopped smoking but it hasn't arrived and I am worried!
It may sound a little strange but I've read so many things that talk about the cilia in your lungs healing and starting to move all the filth that I have put them over the past 25 years up and out. This hasn't happened even though I always smoked filter-free roll-ups (at least 15/day) which must have been worse than usual cigarettes. I haven't even had any noticeable increase in phlegm.
Have I permanently damaged them? Will my lungs now be full of tar until I die? Could it be because I am on NRT?
Did you get a cough/increased phlegm? When did this start? Where you on NRT?
All comments appreciated.
Thanks.
