Good news, eh? Did you know that I am quite capable of driving WITHOUT a cigarette between my lips? They make a paper square called kleenex to blot your lipstick on. You no longer have to use the filter of your cigarette or the rim of your coffee mug! Hey everyone...watch this...(famous last words)......................................................................................................................................................I can run to the mailbox and back! :) And I am not out of breath (much)! And here's another good thing---smell my neck---no, not perfume! It's my soap and body lotion---from this morning! :) My kids give me more hugs, and that is definately a good thing! Thanks Wendy It does actually get better, I mean the breathing and being able to have a little stamina. I can swim almost twice as far as I could when I started. I can swim freestyle/front crawl for way longer than when I was stopping every third stoke cause I thought I was going to have a stroke. Lobster in the cool blue of the pool you bet and it is now way way better. I am just am old crab in the pool. I don't have to worry about clients, friends. family saying I stink of smoke. I was able to give my mom a big big hug without having to dowse myself in fabreeze or some other weird odour. Way better. I can go for way longer than I could without thinking of smoking. I have all kinds of other methods to take a little break, give myself a rest, take my mind to some other place. This is way better than it was even 75 days ago. My old self is coming back, the humour, the delight at life and even some of the good stuff I never had. Thanks for the thread. Good news is always a pleasure. I have some really good news! At this stage of my quit I don't want to smoke anymore! Smoking thoughts are not even part of my normal day. Once in a blue moon I will have a thought but it is more like a "smoking is something I use to do" thought. I'm so glad to be free of the enslavement of smoking. I whined and cried all over these boards early in my quit but I hung on, some times by my fingernails. One day at a time I didn't smoke. It is so worth it! You can do it too. Keep putting one foot in front of the other. Great idea for a thread Windy! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 501 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,038 Amount Saved: $1753.5 Life Gained: Days: 44 Hrs: 5 Mins: 34 Seconds: 21
