Hi Dune I have been off patches for quite awhile (2 - 3 weeks I think?) To be honest, I felt abit of a change each time I dropped. I don't think there is that much difference between 7 mgs and nothing. I remember forgetting my 3rd last patch and putting it on at 7:30 p.m. (part of me thought - if you haven't used it all day, you don't need it now...but the other part realized that 3 more patches and they were all gone!) I've seen how you have progressed in your quit and I know that you will do just fine! Dune It wont be a problem At the end of the patches I started on 2mg nicotine gum. Not regularbut I find it goodtohave as a safety valve . A pack of 30 pieces takes me 2 to 3 weeks so its not addictive but at times........ Imallclear, If your unsure about how much gum your permitted or not permitted to chew, give your pharmacist a call. It only takes a few minutes and can ease your mind. Some members go through their step down without a hitch, others experience a day or two with a few cravings. This is temporary and passes as your body adjusts to the new level of nicotine in your system. Hope this helps. Danielle ________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi DuneDad, I was on the patches and as I worked down from 24 to 16 to 7mg, I hardly noticed the change at all. And the best bit was when I went from 7mg to nil. I really didn't notice a thing. Apart from no longer having to wash dirty black sticky marks off my arms each day! all the best Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 295 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,855 Amount Saved: 2212.5 Life Gained: Days: 49 Hrs: 5 Mins: 6 Seconds: 53

Dad, What are you doing to celebrate? You said you missed that celebratory smoke, so now come up with something else to use to celebrate. Dinner with the family out. Special gift for everyone. A special ornament to mark this the non construction x-mas! There are plenty of things you can do and you also get to celebrate your one month anniversary. Congrats and get planning! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
