hi Jan, glad you got your prescription. I used wellbutrin (same thing) and it really helped me. I also used the patch for the first 8 weeks. Whatever helps you and keeps you quit, I say do it! We'll be looking forward to watching your quit meter climb starting on New Years day. Best of luck. Hi Jan, pleased that you got your prescription and wish you well. You know that the real hard work has to come from you I'm sure. The drug is just a support............... You have to stop smoking and not become one of the 80% of people who fail each year at this time despite the best of intentions and a bag full of NRT aids. What you have to do is quite simple really.......you have to not smoke.....you have to stop putting those revolting things in your mouth and go through the pain and discomfort of withdrawral from one of the most powerfully addictive substances on the planet. I have bumped an old post for you, The Lord of the Rings. It is one of my favourites for newbies and I hope it helps. Don't think too badly of me for being a realist.....I would stop for you if I could......but you have to do that and I don't want you to think that it will be easy with the prescription. Good luck and we are all here for you.
