Ahhhgggg! I'm Struggling

Whew! Glad you made it through, Jan! You too, Windy! :) Must have been the weekend for it...I did so well thru Thanksgiving. Then yesterday after church I got so angry with my husband, over nothing really...his annoying mannerisms...and went outside to keep from saying BAD things. That did nothing but work me up more...nothing seemed to help. None of my usual coping skills seemed to work, and that little voice, 'a smoke would calm you down and make you feel better'. I was so happy when I was able to just go to bed! Never thought I would be one who would be happy it is Monday! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 80 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,023 Amount Saved: $640 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 6 Mins: 38 Seconds: 52

Hold on tight, Jan... It passes - the good news is that the clock ticks... and so craves pass if we just hold on... Get yourself a pocketful of distractions to call on when you need them... my favourite is an old toothbrush and a bottle of spray bleach cleaner - in the bathroom... Hours of just cleaning the grout... distractions are magical in the tough times, friend... You're doing great... hold on! Jan - You have done a wonderful job for 11 days. You are a strong woman and I know that you can continue on this path. Take deep breaths, go for a walk - enjoy the outside breathing all that fresh air. Do some relaxation techniques...anything to take your mind off the ND. Let us know how you are doing! Hi Jan Like Phil I don't log onto the site at weekends so I missed your post. Hope you are doing okay - you are going really well and you know what to do - you've got the coping strategies in place. Be gentle, keep going, you are strong and getting stronger. Tell us how you are. All the best Sharon My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 44 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 442 Amount Saved: 118.36 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 17 Mins: 17 Seconds: 16

Jan. You are doing so great! You have the coping skills you need to get through the times that you crave. Watching a movie is a good distraction and I'm sure by the time it is over you will be feeling much better. Remember to take a lot of deep breaths too. That helps relieve the stress. Keep those coping skills handy and refuse to give in to the addiction no matter what. You are an awesome quitter!
