Why do you want to keep it? To torture yourself? If you smoke it, you will lose those 12 hrs PLUS you will smoke 2X as much prior to your quit.
I do not think I could go thru hell week all over again. Toss the smoke and do not look back. Think of it as calling the police to end an abusive relationship. It's time to kick it to the curb =)

That is definately a no-no! Flush the darn thing. Then go make you a hot cup of tea or cocoa, some popcorn and watch something stupid, but funny, on TV.

Hey guess what chickymama, smoking wont solve a thing. I think I realized that from reading all the posts. My husband uses the excuse it helps him deal with problems. I never knew an inanimate object could solve problems. Hmmmm Chicky, do not do it. Just flush the thing down the toilet. You can do it gf. I know you can!!!
Hug to you

I Have a friend who quit smoking some twenty years ago.
He kept one cigarette in a pack and carried it around with him. It was his way of reminding himself that he had a choice and that he chose not to smoke. I thought it would be torture but he assured me that it was his motivation. A constant reminder of where he had come from.
Just another side of the story and it worked very well for my firend Ross. He has not smoked in over twenty years and yes...he showed me his one cigarette. In this case one cigarette stopped him smoking.
Cheers

Stomp that cigarette! The only reason to have a cigarette in your possession is to smoke it, and quitters don't smoke. So pull it apart, flush it down the toilet, or drive over it ... just get rid of it.

Keep it if you want. It is no threat to you. You are the only threat to you you are the one that needs to take action to light it and smoke it, the cigarette cannot do it by itself. It all depends on whether you want to quit smoking or not.
Keep it if you wish, just don't smoke it. It's simple really.
Good Luck whichever path you choose.
