Ann, So sorry to hear about what you're going through.
We've all been there and can identify what you're talking about. :) I've never taken any medication for panic so I can't comment on that as I don't know enough about it, sorry.
In regards to Meditation for panic this is what I do.
Standing or sitting. Place your hands on your stomach, right where your belly button is. Concentrate on where your hands are. Breathe slowly still thinking about where your hands are. Direct the air you take in to your stomach. Feel your hands moving with your stomach. You can even imagine the air coming from the floor if you like.
This is great to do anywhere when you're feeling anxious. It's important to breathe slow and steady. Make sure you're not breathing from your chest by monitoring your stomach movements with your hands.
Visualising is great too. The idea is to duplicate a warm safe feeling where ever you are, whatever you're doing. Visualise anything, a memory, a person. Anything that makes you feel good.
Before you go to sleep each night really think about that feeling and the thing that brings it. Think of it as your errm 'charm'.
I think about a particular song and concentrate on the mood of the music and images I get from it. Everytime I start feeling anxious about something I get the song in my head and my anxiety goes down.
You can apply this to anything.
Another meditation technique I use is this.
Lie down or just get yourself into a comfortable position really. Close your eyes and imagine a box. Put all your worries, all the things that hurt you into the box. Really spend time on all the things that cause you harm. Put them all into the box. When you can't think of anything more, seal the box. Now imagine a balloon on a string. Tie the balloon to the box. Hold the box with the balloon attached and tell it "You are leaving me for now". Let it go and watch the balloon sail far above you getting smaller and smaller until it's completely out of sight. When you're ready open your eyes.
Also when I'm having a panic attack. I lie down and put my feet up. Levitating my feet slightly makes my physical symptoms subside. I close my eyes and think of colours like Yellow, orange, pink, purple, green, blue. No grey or black because these colours humans a
