Sounds like you are suffering from depression. I don't know about you, but I feel like I just gave up my best friend and that makes me very emotional. Have you tried exercising to boost your energy level? I just looked at your quit meter, Jan... at 2 weeks I was still in the "fog" at times, and yes, was more tired. For me it became better a little every day. I also had some wild dreams (not using NRT), and had trouble sleeping those first two weeks, which made me more tired during the day. Are you sleeping okay at night? Jan, For what my 2 cents is worth, I think it's part of it. I have been downright lazy at times, and I was like Windy about my house. Bed isn't always made either! I won't tell Windy, if you won't tell! I'm a high energy person, and you add nicotine to that, and it became downright exhausting! I have more energy, but it's a more settled, focused energy. I'm more relaxed. I wonder if being more relaxed makes you more tired. If I sit to watch tv, I could just doze right off. Don't forget that each quit is as unique as the quitter. Everyone's quit is a little (or a lot) different. Having said that, do expect some tiredness just from "fighting" the mental battle every day. Mr Ed said to me once that when you smoke, you think about smoking all the time, 24/7. When you quit, you still do, and then a couple days go by and maybe you think of smoking 23/7. And you get 10 weeks in, you think of smoking maybe 18/7. So then, we are fighting the "urge" a lot, and that's quite tiring, don't you think? But imagine what it will feel like when we think of smoking 0/7!!!! Keep up the fight, it is soooo worth it. And you sooo deserve the freedom. Jan - I am here to tell you that there is absolutely NO hope. I am over 130 days and I still HATE doing housework! (Oh...wait...I ALWAYS hated doing housework) As for the sleepy part, I remember being REALLY tired on the 3rd week....I think that things slowly started to improve after that (But I'm not sure.......proper brain function didn't start until at least that 10th week). You are doing great - This is the time to take care of yourself and protect your quit. Sometimes we are just too hard on ourselves. This is one nasty addiction and you are doing an awesome job of fighting it. Of course you are tired! Have a nap.... Nearly two weeks into my quit and at times I still get really tired. I feel fine, its just that some days I could sleep all day. Any idea when this lets up. I have the bad habit of telling myself that after nearly two weeks I should be feeling normal again. I'm doing fine, its just that at times I still don't feel like doing all I used to do. Sometimes I just want to sit and veg. Each stage of the quit will happen naturally I'm sure, and I'm not going to try to force myself to do things I really don't feel like doing right now. Oh yeah...housework is one of them! Have a great evening! Yawn! off to bed early, cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 383 Amount Saved: $108 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 10 Mins: 28 Seconds: 6

Most nights I sleep OK. I've had the odd night where I'm clockwatching every 10 minutes. Then the restlessness begins. I work part time and up to now, I've had a nap most days. I keep having to remind myself that right now, my quit is a "baby quit". Its not a seasoned quit. So, all of us with "baby quits" need to do what it takes. I've got this quit under lock and key right now!!!! I also find reading the posts quite regularly keeps me focused too. Have a good one, Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 400 Amount Saved: $117 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 11 Mins: 58 Seconds: 23

Hey Jan, I too have been experiencing some fatigue since quitting almost 2 weeks ago.Was beginning to wonder if it was just me, I am usually a very energetic person with fairly organized and orderly home. However the last two weeks I have done literally the basics, eat, sleep and shower. With the exception of some laundry that has been the extent of at home life. I do work full time at a Dr.'s office so by the time I get in at night I am pooped. Husband also quit and I am not sure which of us is asleep in the chair or on the sofa first at night. the last time I recall seeing the time last night was around 8:47 pm. Then was fast asleep after that, up and down several times during the night. Keep wondering when this big burst of energy that we are suppose to be going to find is going to hit me.
