Jan58, I don't really know you, but I can tell already that you are going to KICK the smoking! If there is one thing that I believe works best is a good attitude. The attitude of, I WILL NOT give up, no matter how long it takes to kick this habbit. Good for you just on that attitude! Just meeting you I fully believe you will make it! Jan, perhaps you could spend some time to read Allen Carr's book. Many good ideas in it! I found it helpful for my preparation to quit, and I refer to it from time to time .... :) Never quit quitting. Kaitilina, jbr13, Phil, and Mr. Ed, You can be sure I will be here bright and early on Jan. 1!!!! Maybe with tape over my mouth, but I'll be here non the less. No...change that...I think I can do it without the tape! I think Dutch Fini's cold water treatment is deterrent enough! Thanks for the support guys. I thought about not coming back here until the 1st, but I've decided I don't want to stay away. So I'll just stick around, all the while building steam for my quit. Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Thanks Phillip. It is a wonderful feeling just knowing I have somewhere to go for support. I really appreciate that. You know what, I don't know why I didn't check into zyban before now. Maybe I didn't want to admit that I needed extra help. But I'll freely admit it now, and having said that, to me, that is the first step to truly becoming a non smoker! Cheers, Jan

Hi everyone! I haven't posted much these last few days. Because...I am smoking again. I keep trying and trying with the patch alone, and unfortunately that alone is not doing the trick. I keep running into depression and after a while you feel too tired to keep fighting it. So...a bit of good news. I talked at length with both my doctor and pharmacist, and both have agreed that I should be doing this with the patch and zyban together. My pharmacist tells me that he has noticed a very good success rate with that combination and explained to me how it works. So I will be putting my plan into place these next few weeks and taking the medication, and my quit date will be Jan. 1, 2007. I will NEVER give up and I'm truly hoping this is going to work for me. Has anyone here had good luck with zyban? (Not trying to get medical here) So truly I look forward this and also look forward to being an active participant once again. During the next few weeks I'll still be coming here and posting periodically.(You'll never be rid of me that easily). Cheers, Jan

River, Deli, BFS, Danielle, NMC, Windy, and Sparky. I am soooo glad to talk to all of you. I've really missed not being here much. I want to say thanks for all of your support. You really care. I read your post Windy, and hope you will keep posting often, I will too! And Sparky, its sooo good to hear from you. And yes we can do this. We can beat this miserable addiction!!!!! I wish I could log onto the IM but when I try, it sure says I'm logged on, but unfortunately, I'm no where to be found! Maybe I'm doing something wrong. At any rate, I REALLY appreciate all of you, Cheers, Jan My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0
