yes it is true, I have been doing a lot of research on how to speed the metabolism in a healthy way. Apparently the amount of muscle mass you have has a lot to do with the speed of your metabolism. The more muscle you have the faster the your metabolism. Also consumption of more foods high in Fiber can help in metabolism and weight loss.
so in other words, we all have to start eating right and exercising, both aerobic and weight training, or most likely the majority of us will most likely gain on average 6 to 9 pounds. (At least that is all the information I found on the Internet) I have not tried anything out....I am still sitting here with my broken ankle and all my G.I. issues at the moment. :(
However, I figured I smoked about 17 cigs day, about 12 minutes a cig. So that should give me an extra 204 minutes a day. (plenty of time to work in some exercise.

Thanks for the revelation. I knew I wasn't really eating more, was more conscious of what I ate, and threw in a little exercise. I've not been able to understand the weight gain.
Smaller portions in the future, and even healthier choices.

I understand that weight gain is not only attributed to more calories, it also has to do with the fact that our heart rate slows when we stop smoking so we burn fewer calories. All my smoking life my heart rate was about 85 to 90. After a week of quitting it dropped to 70. So exercise more and eat less, I guess is the name of the game.

Yes, your heart rate and metabolism are interrelated. The higher your heart rate the more calories you burn.
