Absolutely loved your post duffis! I totally agree with you re a positive approach and as such it will bring you an abundance of joy and happiness in all facets of one's life. Also, I am a firm believer in choices. They are there - the choices.. We need to decide to make the right choice which serves us the best at any particular time in our lives. Sometimes we will make a choice which was clearly a wrong choice - like smoking.. but then we have the choice to stop smoking.. that's IF we choose to. I have come into this quit after two slips and started from scratch, what 48 days ago (now in day 49) with an entirely different approach. One which is a choice that I made - Embrace and celebrate that I stopped smoking. When a crave comes, ride the wave KNOWING that it shall pass - Attitude, positive! .. and also knowing that it will go away and continue to move happily along at the wonderful job I am doing. If I chose to get down with all of the craves, the anxieties etc which come with stopping smoking I'd be a mental wreck. I also don't blame my moods, my stress levels on my quit.. It's the way I'm feeling today.. Like any day regardless of not smoking. But then when I see, when I recognize the bad mood, anxiety, stress I also simply go with the flow with that as well, because we are all human and that's part of nature. We can't be in a happy go lucky mood every minute of every day.. But hell, I will ALWAYS recognize the moods, figure out the problem and make a healthy choice to make it better whenever possible. Life is filled with choices - I choose to be happy, positive and embrace and celebrate everything that life has to offer me. And when the sh* hits the fan I will and have dealt with that too in a constructive and positive way. Do I agree?? 7009845 times YES!! Great post Duffis. We have two kinds of quitters, the positive and the negative. The positive ones have not such a hard time. It feels great to be a non smoker :) Nice weekend.
