Penguin: Cigarettes are not you. You are able to rise above, though there may be some dips prior to take off. AA will tell you to give yourself over to the higher conscience, if that be god, the group or a doorknob, etc. You are trying. That is what matters. Your past efforts are not in vain. It all adds up. Dear Penguin, I just came off a horrible 4 day.. hitting that wall hard,, temptations and craves were almost unbearable! I DIDN'T cave, but I came soooooooo close. Was the longest 4 days yet and I fought like hell, with the use of all my coping techniques, re-adjusting them, coming here constantly begging for help, for support, for advice and everyone was here for me in a HUGE way!! -- After was all said and done.. I finally landed back on my feet! Dust yourself off sweetie and stand up to the nicodemon and move forward.. Everyone is here for you! Put the past behind you and look forward .. taking it one step at a time. :) Stay strong, Monica58 My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 27 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 545 Amount Saved: $243 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 23 Mins: 23 Seconds: 20

Penguin, dedicate yourself to getting your stats back to where you were. You'll be there before you know it. Obviously, don't stop there, though. Lock arms with us, now. Let's go. One step at a time. Sunny skies are up ahead. Penguin, Do not beat yourself up! We've all been where you are and it's not a nice place to be! Remember, we are here for you now and when you are ready to try again. Spend some time thinking about why that wall was insurmountable yesterday. Take care, be kind to yourself and know that we love ya!!!!!! Hi Penguin Look, don't worry. I slipped too but I got right back on the horse and I'm doing fine. A quote from Henry Ford: Whether you beleive you can or you can't, you are right So believe you can, because you really can. Go for it, we are all right here wishing for your success. I do give a damn. I wish I could quit for you. If I could I would. Quitting was so hard for me as well and I know exactly what you mean. People around here didn't give up on me. They still don't give up on me. Those I met here hold my hand whenever I need it. I am here to do the same for you. Now, stop beating yourself up. You are an awesome quitter! We are on the road again. This time we are not getting off. Right? One step at a time. Here we go. Penguin, A penguin is a flightless marine bird... an oxymoron really.. a bird that can't fly. Are you a quitter who can't quit? Your track record so far is, shall we say, weak? Lose the emotions. Lose trying to tie your quit into various parts of your life. Don't make promises to anyone. Simply put the cigarettes down and walk away. They are your past, not your future. Your life will be there forever and ever.. with all of it's ups and downs. Life doesn't care if you smoke or not. Your health and your loved ones care. Life will go on. You faced a wall? B.S. We all have faced walls. If you can't climb over it, you go around it. Lighting up a smoke will not get you over an anthill, let alone a wall! You can justify smoking from now until hell freezes over. If that's what you truly want to do, then you have picked the appropriate name for yourself. See paragraph 1. Whatever you decide do to, just do it and get on with your life. Be Strong. Be Smart.
