I'm old, fat and ugly!

Windy, Don't get down on yourself. I'm sorry you were in that situation, but remember, I truley believe as many people do that beauty and youth is not just skin deep. Be proud of who you are right now. You don't need a strange man taking a second look at you to make you feel whole. I'm just sorry you had to go through that, but you did fantastic. The truth be told....because I always tell the truth....I'm a HUGE George Cloney Fan,....if he walked by me in a bar...I'm pretty sure I would reapply my lipstick.....he is just fun to look at and my hubby knows this...LOL. Like I said, I always tell the truth! Bummer Windy! Sounds like you got over it pretty much, but needed to talk about it..that's cool. My wife HAD (note the emphasis) a friend like that...Every year she would organise a girls trip to Vegas, one year my wife went. Her friend had a long time affair with a dude there, and wouldnt you know it, he had friends also. That was the beginning of the end of that friendship. Respect is 2 way street. Oh, by the way, This persons life (as she knew it) imploded a few years later. You can't have your cake and eat it. Have a Great monday Windy--K My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/7/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 34 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 680 Amount Saved: $156.4 Life Gained: Days: 4 Hrs: 19 Mins: 38 Seconds: 37

Oh Windy, I love to read your posts. You crack me up sometimes. I am so glad that I don't have to do the "singles" thing. I have a friend who recently seperated from her hubby, we used to do the girls night out thing when she was married. I don't go out with her much anymore because it's just not the same. It's like she is on the prowl all the time. Or she is being prowled. She's a smoker too. Maybe if she didn't have smokers breath she'd get lucky! Reality Check for Windy - Sparky .... I am soooooooooo glad that I do not have to hang out in those places making small talk...I am glad that I don't have to wear uncomfortable clothes and spend hours doing my hair and make up. My hubby and cats were so glad to have me back home (and they think I'm mighty cute - apparently I taste good too because George licked my face silly) By the way, George is my cat not my hubby. I am not fat ... I am just not thin anymore....I'm "snuggly". I had no intention of trying to diet until my quit was strong. January is plenty early enough to worry about that. I am going to the gym tomorrow and, despite gaining some weight, I am way fitter than I ever was. Oh yeah....and I'm not ugly....just ask my mother! And as for the friends...........well Sparky...you are "my Internet friend" so I could PRETEND you were fat and ugly???? Thanks for the wake up call. Okay - is this a new phase that nobody told me about? I went on combined work/social outing yesterday. Following a drive for work, I made plans to meet a friend, go out for supper and a visit, stay overnight and then do the return drive today. The day started off bad as a stow storm threatened the trip and had to leave later. I managed to fit the gym into the morning only to discover that I had gained ANOTHER 5 pounds!! Finally, by noon, made the decision to go ahead with the drive but was totally stressed when I got there. She told me that we were going to this nice restaurant for h'ors d'oeuvres and wine....I thought that sounded great until we got there and I discovered that we were at a "pick up" bar and that she was possibly meeting a fella there. Well....my hubby in addition to my new waistline kind of put a cramp in my "pick up" style...plus my "pick up" clothes have been discarded about 15 years ago....So I am totally miserable, totally out of place and rather "pissed" at my friend for putting me in this situation. The good news was that dispite having a totally miserable evening - I didn't think about smoking (Wow! - That's a big step) The bad news was that my night stunk and I am still old, fat and ugly (well not really but I feel that way) Soooooooo.....step 2 in the quitting plan...Dieting in the New Year (forget Christmas) and spend my time with my old, fat ugly friends that don't take me to singles bars...oh yeah...and snuggling up with my hubby and kittens. Oh well - nobody said that life would be perfect! OK Windy, You had a bad night, got met with a few realities, and are now feeling sorry for yourself. Pity party over! You are a wonderful, obviously very intelligent for having quit smoking, and caring person. You can work on the weight loss in the new year, and as I said before, you have quit smoking, so you have made your health SO much better! You will probably live longer now that you don't smoke, and you have a hubby who loves you! Sounds so me like you've got it pretty good right now! CELEBRATE your life and all of your achievements this year, rather than looking back thinking that you are overweight, ugly and old. Pity party done, k? Crave the Quit! Dunedad-Seems we all know a few like that. I had a couple of friends that went away for 'girls' weekends to allegedly do 'scrapbooking'. They finally confessed they were meeting men. I no longer see them at all. I'd like to join your club, Windy. I meet all the requirements in the title of your post and I have no desire to pick up some strange in a bar! Like you, I am happy that hubby likes me in a pair of old sweats with no make-up! I never cared for the bar scene and when I did I never met any 'keepers' there! Windy, Windy, Windy aren't you glad you don't have to the pick-up thing anymore? OMG all the work one has to put into that and for what? To come home smelling, and with who(?) and still alone. I for one am so glad I have a hubby that loves me inspite of myself. So you have a little more to love who cares, besides Windy. You are one beautiful soul, with sooooooooooooooooo much to give. I am not talking about the extra lbs :eg:. I not happy about the extra pounds, but that is going to taken care of. Don't laugh I boutht a pilaties DVD. My son looked at it and said "How old are you Mom?" I said "62" He shook his head and walked away :p What can I say? I am going to give a try. Is that how you see your friends "Old, fat, and ugly?" You want to rethink that my friend? :eg: (((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))))) Sparky
