You are the second person that has mentioned that. I think I am going to try it....what's it going to hurt, other than my wrist? Thanks for the reminder. Well here is another first. Back to work. I am lucky enough though that my work is in my home. Daycare. Love all "my" children but they are hard enough to handle after a long break let alone going through an early quit. I will do this, I have to, I want to. Things will be fine. (I hope) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/18/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 15 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 385 Amount Saved: $60 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 4 Mins: 32 Seconds: 43

Well here we go. I gotta go to the store today and I think that after reading all the post's you guys have put up for me I think there will be no problems. Main thing I keep telling myself is that "come on now, me against this little bitty thing. If I can take on a family of guys in football on Thanksgiving then this is a snap". Well here I go.... Let you know how it goes later. Happy New Year, it's gonna be a good one I think. I'm back..... You know I have seen on here that some of you feel like they (cigarettes) were like old "friends" you were saying goodbye to. I couldn't understand that. It is an object! I sooo get it now. As I was standing in line to pay for my items I caught myself searching the wall behind the cashier to find my so called "friend". I didn't want to buy them (that surprised me) but just wanted to find them. I couldn't find them and almost felt sad that I was walking away from the store with out saying their name. I was really surprised that I didn't want anything to do with them. I did however keep repeating in my head N.O.P.E. There is no way I ever would want to do this 2 weeks over again. I think that folks on here have had a lot to do with my success so a HUGE thank you to all of you. Thanks for the idea's and in my area there are NO places that don't sell cigarettes. It just makes me nervous reading some of the posts and seeing them in their 300+ days of their quit and still fighting the craves. I guess one day at a time, HUH? Hi everyone. Been with my quit for just about 2 weeks. I have had my husband here with me the whole time that has been my rock. He goes back to work soon and I have refused to go to the gas station or store because they always have those pretty little boxes of cigarettes sitting right in front of you at the counter and don't know really how to handle the stress of the first time out. Any idea's guys? Thank you for all your support in this. I think I will be fine....I have been doing something right for 2 weeks, correct? I just get very self-doughtful. I have always been told by my family I am the "strong one in the family" but really don't feel like it right now. I have always been the one to take care of everyone and now I just feel like I have nothing to give at this point till I get myself taken care of. I know I can do it and the support and the post I get to read from all of you helps so very much and want to tell everyone a huge THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi, Wendi. I've known a few have been quit for years and they have told me, that once in a blue moon a crave, though slight, has hit them. I can relate in that I am nesting in the upstairs of our townhouse. Its odd, in a way, that I can get out of the house okay. I've bought gas, been to the drug store, grocery shopping... Its just at home, I feel "safer" in my quit. Not to mention, if I'm up here, I'm posting and reading. I figure when I'm ready...I'm ready. Then I'll push myself a little more. Like you, I have had the benefit of my mately being off from school during this and that has been a HUGE help. Hang in there. Protect your quit. When you're ready to push yourself, you will. You will because not smoking is a lifetime choice. Stay strong! :)Pat. Rusty is pointed and right. But, perhaps you are too young in your quit. The bottom line rule is whatever you have to do and Monica may have a point. I say 2 weeks is a major accomplishment and you should progress as you are able. Eventually you are gonna have to tackle the games in you head.
