Hope all quits are going well. As the events of the afternoon unfolded, I had to make the choice to change my quit date. Let me explain.
Zyban is to be taken 10 days prior to the actual quit. That's the instructions on my prescription and in fact, the doctor told me just that. I planned to start the Zyban before Christmas.
My pharmacist, when I picked up the prescription, told me that I could actually start taking the Zyban on my quit date. Which I did. I took the first Zyban this morning. And my pharmacist is usually bang on!
Not this time, by late this afternoon into early evening. I was struggling big time. Depression is one of the quitting symptoms I suffer from and has what has always driven me back to cigarettes.
I WANT this to work. I figured for my best chance at success, I really should follow the Zyban instructions to the letter.
If I'm not mistaken, the Chantix directions are very similar.
I could kick myself for not going with my gut feeling at the time.
I realize that Zyban isn't the "magic pill". There is no such thing. I am ready for the hard work, but with a little less of the depression...please.
So, please bear with me, as I follow my Zyban program closely.
Thanks for letting bend your ears, or is that your eyes?
Cheers, Jan
