Hi tsikos - So what about making a commitment to yourself that you will protect your Quit with everything in you right now... Your Quit is very vulnerable, it's like a tiny baby... A puff is flirting with danger... and, it's your choice... Stay focused on what YOU decide you need to do for you, and build some coping skills for the tough times... Sleeping and relaxing - it can be tough in the Quit beginning.... Soooo - what do you do to relax, to clear your mind... Walking or meditating? Soft, soothing music, a warm, soothing bath? Whatever it takes to gentle YOU down, do it before bed... and just clear your mind when you are ready for sleep... Concentrate on your breathing and before long, you will be off to gentle, and calm sleep, friend... Take it easy and be good to you... and be kind and patient with yourself... tsikos, Noooo, it doesn't last forever (thank goodness). I sleep better now than I have in years. Your body and mind are simply going through some challenges trying to heal and be normal again. For most smokers, normal is a distant memory. Be patient and kind to yourself. It will take a little while but you'll get there if you stick with it. Of course, you don't want to make it harder on yourself by introducing those chemicals back into your body by smoking... it just aggravates your withdrawal symptoms. Ride out those symptoms and know that each one is a sign of healing. They'll pass :) Keep hanging in there... tsikos, Your body is still healing and you must give it time. Don't take anymore puffs and keep your coping mechanism close! Take the time to relax yourself before bed and ease into your sleep. This will help you start the day fresh and perhaps get a good night rest. You can go for a walk, do stretches, take a bath, read a book...whatever you would like to relax yourself with, do it! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
