Welcome Windy!
The first few days of your quit are definately hard!!
I stay quit by remembering them................ I never want to go through it again!
Did you use any aids in your quit? Did you complete the program tools here (on the left side)? What are your coping mechanisms?
A definate plan is one key ingredient. That will help you through your first weekend. Trust me, the weekends used to be very tough.
What I did, was pretty much sleep and cry. I quit cold turkey, so for the first 3 days, I was miserable. I tried to go out to dinner on my 2nd night, but I ended up crying in the bathroom of the resteraunt. I was shaking, irritable, emotional, tired, mad, happy, sad, busy, bored,...... etc...... But I kept saying that I DO NOT WANT TO SMOKE. I repeated this all day. Of course, I also quit using hypnosis, which, in my opinion, was the best thing invented!! I bought some hypnosis cd's from the instructor and listened to them all day long. Since this was my first real quit attempt, I needed to do anything and everything to keep from smoking.
After your first week, you will feel a little better. It keeps on getting better from here on out. I promise. Just remember why you quit. And make your plan. Planning, knowledge, determination, and attitude will help you have a successful quit.
Stay close by here. Read and re-read posts to keep yourself busy. Guzzle water by the gallons......... Go to the gym (again)!
You can do this! We are all here for you!
