Windy & Dee Dee - sounds like a great support team to me! It's great to have a quit buddy with the same quit time. You have challenges ahead of you but if you truly are tired of planning your life around smoking, you must change the plan, and change your life. That's what this place is for, there are plenty of threads about what you can do now that you don't smoke anymore. Use the search message feature and type in something that interests you - like can't sleep, or I'm hungry and believe me, there will be stuff there for you to review! Fight hard and stay tough! Welcome Windy! The first few days of your quit are definately hard!! I stay quit by remembering them................ I never want to go through it again! Did you use any aids in your quit? Did you complete the program tools here (on the left side)? What are your coping mechanisms? A definate plan is one key ingredient. That will help you through your first weekend. Trust me, the weekends used to be very tough. What I did, was pretty much sleep and cry. I quit cold turkey, so for the first 3 days, I was miserable. I tried to go out to dinner on my 2nd night, but I ended up crying in the bathroom of the resteraunt. I was shaking, irritable, emotional, tired, mad, happy, sad, busy, bored,...... etc...... But I kept saying that I DO NOT WANT TO SMOKE. I repeated this all day. Of course, I also quit using hypnosis, which, in my opinion, was the best thing invented!! I bought some hypnosis cd's from the instructor and listened to them all day long. Since this was my first real quit attempt, I needed to do anything and everything to keep from smoking. After your first week, you will feel a little better. It keeps on getting better from here on out. I promise. Just remember why you quit. And make your plan. Planning, knowledge, determination, and attitude will help you have a successful quit. Stay close by here. Read and re-read posts to keep yourself busy. Guzzle water by the gallons......... Go to the gym (again)! You can do this! We are all here for you! ;) 4my2girls What Consumes Your Thoughts Controls Your Life My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 192 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,775 Amount Saved: $627.84 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 11 Mins: 46 Seconds: 13

Windy, Thanks for sharing! Your determination is outstanding and you can do this! You will have to change your routine and habits to help you through those craves. If the gym is helping then continue on with this! Take the time to look around the program and use the tips and tools available to you. Make a list of chores, activities and hobbies. Use this list a reward and for distraction. By being prepared you will fair well, let us help and post often for guidance. Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
