A worthwhile struggle

Jan: Sounds like you are doing just fine! I don't think about smoking much at work either...home is another story. It especially makes weekends hard for me. Switch up your routines at home...go for walks...shower in the middle of the day...go someplace where you can't smoke (movies, museums..)..log onto SSC! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 6 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 335 Amount Saved: $48 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 16 Mins: 35 Seconds: 20

Jan ... in all honesty ... sounds like you are doing great! ;p Hey, you aren't smoking. So I say a reward is in order. A reward will help with you feeling snappy as well. Maybe you go take a bubble bath or something... have some 'you' time. Then back to the family feeling thankful and refreshed. Keep up the great quit you have going. Look at you - you are on day three!!! That is so great. I am sure your family would rather have you a little out of sorts than smoking. Just explain to them that it will not last forever, just give you some time. Celebrate you one week when you get there and maybe you could include them also, for going though it with you. Just a thought. Thanks for your reply earlier. One the best coping tools we have on the Quit journey, is distractions... Jan58 don't you be howling at those beagles! This will pass. Find ways to elevate and levitate your mood. Find some lovely things to do for yourself and give yourself some love and care and just plain really great me time. Practice gratitude and smile a lot. Our fellow quitter Marie knows about smiling. Be straight with your family. I am sure that they will understand because they want you around for longer. Your dogs will always want to go for a walk, or just a big sniff and now you can join them no problem. :p Phillip My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 210 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,200 Amount Saved: $1575 Life Gained: Days: 34 Hrs: 5 Mins: 22 Seconds: 29

Yeah for the "girls". They will certainly keep you out of trouble and will help you along the way. Your love and care will shine through with them all the time. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 210 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,206 Amount Saved: $1575 Life Gained: Days: 34 Hrs: 6 Mins: 32 Seconds: 36
