From the posts I see the sooner you do it the better. I personally don't care about drama or whatever. What I care about is if you can get quit. Use this group however you want. Gonna Rewards. I swear by them. They don't have to be big, they just have to let your brain know that you care and that you are giving it something special for not having a smoke. Just as with Marie, I am not going anywhere. You can do this. You are a force to be reconned with. Hang in there gonnadoit!!! Geez...it took me three tries to pass statistics in college...and then only by the goodness of the professor's heart did I get a D...just barely passing. If you can get an A in Sadistics...I mean Statistics, you CAN quit!! Forget about drama. Just don't smoke the next cigarette. gonnadoit... Most people have lives that involve drama. It's called "LIFE". Don't worry about it and post away. We are here to hear the drama. I have bared my soul on these boards at times that I didn't have anyone else to turn to. I could come here and say things that I couldn't say to others about how I really felt. The ability to do that got me through many rough patches. Don't quit quitting. Keep taking one step at a time and remember N.O.P.E. Not one puff ever! That is how we all quit. Don't worry about drama and angst. Your quit is your own and however you experience it is fine. Please feel free to share your story here. Cry, whine, scream if you need to. Think about what happened and then decide that no matter WHAT happens, you will never light up again. Fantasize in advance a HUGE stressful event, and then fantasize not smoking during it and what you would do instead. Promise yourself that if you are having a bad moment, you will come HERE and post and wait for replies. I was putting my Mom in an Alzheimer's unit during the first weeks of a quit. The junkie tried really hard to tell me that I deserved a cigarette because I was in such emotional pain. But, I stayed glued here and posted and answered myself in my head when I couldn't be here. The support here is incredible - do NOT underestimate the power and wisdom of those who are travelling this road before, with and behind you. This place and my commitment saved my quit. I love your determination and wish you the best in making this your final quit. Just like you stuck with that statistics course, stick with your quit and you'll make an A. There will be some homework and some teeth-grinding every now and then as you make your way through, but you'll get there if you keep your eyes on the prize! gonnadoit, Don't worry about putting up a strong front - this is what support is all about. These first few days are especially tough and well, painful. So...hurting is normal. Is it hard physically or emotionally - or both? My hope is that you've already called it a day and will find things look better in the morning. If not let us know how you are doing...
