To Patch or not to Patch?

A) Zyban (one a day in the morning) + nicotine lozenges for the first 11 weeks then just the Zyban B) Never went more than 5 days cold turkey in my life (and that was after hypnotism!) so I knew I had to use nicotine products to kick start me. (btw been smoking 40 years, average annual quit attempts = 2 per year, this is the 2nd longest quit ever and the last one was 9 months on nicorette gum) Zyban My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 123 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,462 Amount Saved: 307.5 Life Gained: Days: 15 Hrs: 23 Mins: 8 Seconds: 7

Sorry, Mr. Ed. I forgot the second question. And I got my numbers wrong. I started cold turkey and was about to chew my arm off when a co-worker offered me the gum. I bought some and used it for a couple of days. But then I read that whyquit site where using an aid is evil, plus my jaw was sore, so I stopped the gum. Obviously, there was no planning in my quit. :p Rusty My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/13/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 580 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 16,258 Amount Saved: $2030 Life Gained: Days: 79 Hrs: 20 Mins: 57 Seconds: 14

Just want to comment that the idea of the government providing support to people is such a magnificent concept, and therefore not available in Florida. Using "aids" to help with your quit doesn't make you any less strong than someone who quits cold turkey. We are all amazing - regardless of what method we choose :) (Mr Ed.....it will be interesting to see the results of your survey when you have completed them ~ I look forward to it :)) Rachel Two years, four months, three weeks, two days, 21 hours, 30 minutes and 57 seconds. 17497 cigarettes not smoked, saving 3,936.84.
